TK-42178 Requesting ANH Stunt Build EIB Status (AP)[463]
Spycee replied to Spycee's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Woo hoo thanks guys ! You can call me Alex only if I can call you Steve For the mentionned points : - My Centurion helmet has the rank bar on the third bump from the left, so it should be ok. I'll change it on this helmet too when I'll find some time. - The blaster came from a guy referred by Mark from AP. I don't know how he built it, I only bought it while waiting to finish my "real" blaster (which will take a long time !). I don't know how the parts are glued, and if it is easy to correct the problems. Will I be able to be Centurion with this blaster or will I have to wait for my other blaster to be finished ? What is scalloping ? - I already have the small white elastics for the shoulder bridges, I just didn't think to take a picture of them with the interior strapping, sorry. - If I remove one of the 2 rivets on the holster it will leave a hole, is it a problem for Centurion ? Is it mandatory to remove it ? I'm more bothered by a hole in it than having 2 rivets. Maybe I'll just change it someday for another one, and give this one to my daughter. - For my Centurion approbation I will (of course) take again all of the pictures. Thanks again ! -

Painting the inside of the helmet
Spycee replied to Somatophylax's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Laval is his home city, not his name I painted one of my helmets in satin black (with spray paint), and it's FANTASTIC !!! Just do it before cutting and build it. During the building (yeah, lots of ABS dust, I know !) : -
Darth Voorhees coming back home...
Spycee replied to Darth Voorhees's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Welcome back :-) -
RomFX ordered and paid, with a PTT cable Woo hoo !
-
Take care and take the time to get better. Health is #1 priority, far before the Empire's needs.

Question about Anovos’ Armor
Spycee replied to AmyLynn98's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
I taped my glasses behind the lenses, it's GREAT ! I've trooped 3 days with them and I had no problem. The sides are of course removed. I now have to think of a way to hold them that let me put them on and off easily. -
I can safely say that the majority of the people here have no idea of what they're doing at the very beginning, so stay away from that for the first pieces :-) you're right, you must know what you're doing. I think it's better to begin with E6000, and if some pieces can't stay glued together use a bit of that to help.

stormtooper undersuit question ?
Spycee replied to jodayoshi's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
Everlast, it's what I have, I forgot the name ! Great undersuit for a great price. There's only one logo partly visible on the left of the chest, and a sharpie took care of it. -
stormtooper undersuit question ?
Spycee replied to jodayoshi's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
These are often found near the entrance at Walmart. Note that it's not all Walmart that got these. There's just a small logo to color in black. -
Ah ah, good, I'll take some pictures :-)
-
He proposed me to add (for a price) a PTT cable that works with it. I don't know how this works, sorry
-
Woo hoo, good news ! It is possible to use a PTT switch with the RomFX, I talked about it with John, the maker of the kit. And I am on the waiting list for the RomFX, which is supposed to ship in a couple of weeks I will just need to make the magnetic part of it.
-
It is exactly what I want to do, but I prefer not having a cord that runs on my arm. I will place the magnet in the glove, and the other part inside the armor. Thanks for the example !
-
I hesitate a lot between RomFX and iComm ... I heard very good comments on RomFX, the only real downsides being its cost and availability ... What I want : - Use it only when I want (magnetic PTT) - Have the "shh" noise at the end of my talk Would I be ok with the iComm ? I read that it can have some issues sometimes, and it seems a lot of trouble to change batteries. It bothers me a lot, considering the price ...
-
AP since December. Around 7-8 troops. A couple of minor scratches. Where pieces are touching there's a lot of... scuffs, is it the right word ? I did sleeves for all the pieces to minimize the scratches. I'm very happy with it :-)
-
I would like to put the microphone on only when I need it, when touching my helmet with a hand, so if I cough or talk to myself (I know, I'm weird !) it is kept inside the helmet. I know iComm has a button you can push to do that, so I thought that since the RomFX cost a lot more it would also do that. How does the on/off microphone works on the RomFX ?
-
Yeah it must be it ! But it's for iComm... Is it possible to do PTT with a RomFX kit ?
-
I want to do something, but I don't know if it would work. I don't find what I want, but I'm pretty sure I saw something like that but I don't remember where ... I want to use a RomFX kit, but that only works when I want, so something "push to talk". But I don't want a button in my gloves, I want to put a magnet in my glove that activates the RomFX functions when I touch my helmet at a precise place. I KNOW I saw that somewhere !!! Does someone know what I'm talking about ? And I want to add to that an EAS kit for hearing what happens around me. I hope it all fit in my AP helmet

While I'm building my blaster (it can take some time since I want to add electronics), I ordered another one from a contact of Mark from AP. It will eventually go to one of my children, for their armors. It's a resin one with a PVC tube. It looks great to me, but I'm not an expert for blaster Does it look ok enough to be approved ? With that blaster, I think I'm ready for my Expert Infantryman submission
-
It's normal if you have trouble putting your head in it. You have to "screw" it on your head.
-
Seems ok to me. What's important is to make the hole as small as possible with your hand able to get in and get out, and enough space to put on the gloves.
