  1. Hey Rui, as stated by your brethren EIB first, Centurion second. We'll keep this thread open because it's obvious you'll be applying here soon, just change out the pictures.
  2. Hey Rui, thanks for your EIB submission. Sly or myself will be with your shortly.
  3. My apologies, I thought we were talking about the Classic TK. $2.5K-$3K for the FOTK would be about right, if you built it to canon specs
  4. He means if they're charging you $2000+ to build the kit Mark will do it for less. Heck if that's the case I'll jump on the Build-A-Kit band wagon. With that said we know this is NOT the case. A completely assembled TK is $1,800. I've heard the $2,500 mentioned before also but I believe it's for a Collector's Version.
  5. Overheard my son talking to one of his friends about some car accident his friend had been involved in, apparently it was pretty bad. So bad the friend lost rectum control and crapped himself. Soon as I heard that I exclaimed! "Rectum? dang near killed em" Apparently I was the only one in the house who thought it was funny
  6. Days of our lives this thread is ummm!
  7. Not quite finished yet but thank you Adam
  8. Haha. I still have my TFA box with mounds of scrap trimmins. I should have rid myself of it a month or two ago. At this point I think it's only around for sedimentary value. As like you its time to say goodbye.
  9. Suggestion, try the hot water bath technique. If it doesn't work you may have to replace it. At this point I would stay away from the heat gun.
  10. Mine arrived today. ABS on the left, Fiberglass (shot with automotive paint) right. Not sure if it's worth $200 but definitely a viable non-LFL replacement trooping bucket, especially since it literally 3.5lbs + lighter.
  11. Waiting for one of these gems as well and crossing my fingers. EDIT: Apparently I had a typo on this post that offended some, my apologizes.
  12. Hey Derek, thank you for your patience during this time of the holiday season and thank you for your EIB submission. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All photos are present and your armor represents all necessary elements to qualify for EIB. With that we'd like welcome you Expert Infantryman! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: Sly and myself would like to commend you on your build, nice work trooper . There are a couple areas we'd like to see you correct (EIB suggestions only). These corrections would compliment the overall look of your armor. You did a fine job on your helmet, including the weathering however, the rest of your armor isn't weathered. To solve this issue we suggest you paint the weathered areas of the helmet. Your shoulder bells appear to be a bit thin, as if you may have trimmed the return edge too far. Unfortunately it takes away from the uniformity of the armor. At this point we're not asking you to do anything however, at the Centurion level we may ask you to replace them. They should look more like what's seen in this reference picture. Cover strip widths on the legs are 20mm at the front, 20mm at the rear thighs and 25mm on the calf closure. Though this could be a picture angle issue your thigh cover strips look a bit thin on the front of your thighs. If you would be so kind as to post the cover strip measurements that would be great. Ab to kidney alignment appears to be off 1" or so on the right side. Please make necessary adjustments to bring the two level with each other. It should look close to this. The ammo belt 45 degree corners are very large. The inner taper should be in line or close the cloth belt width itself. Though at this time we will not be asking you to make any changes, if you choose to apply for Centurion we may ask you to correct the issue as well. It should look similar to this reference photo. During your arms raised pictures your chest plate is seen rising above your ab plate, is needs to remain below. Please shorten the chest to ab straps and submit new pictures, thank you. Also in the same pictures we noticed your back plate to kidney plate gap grows. If submitting for Centurion please be sure to secure that area as there is little to no gap allowed. Thanks again Though not a huge deal, trimming the lower posterior return edge would give that area a cleaner look, which we like to see. Finally, though not effecting your EIB approval we would like to see you replace the phillips head screws used to secure the Thermal Detonator clips to the body with pan head (slotted) screws, and paint them black. That's it! Again, welcome to EIB.
  13. Never personally had any problems with the Hovi system I sell. Yes they are not as loud as the chest mounted type being the speakers are much smaller but I have plenty of satisfied customers. If you're interested just follow the Hovi sales thread li k in my signature below.
  14. Yea I sell them as well, just follow my Hovi sales thread in my signature below
  15. 15a. Side pouch cont... While waiting for final details to arrive I went ahead and installed the two side pouches. Select location. Punch 1/8" hole where mounting screws will be inserted. Apply glue on back side. Install.
  16. 10b Shoulder harness cont... Installing buckle, belt, lock and sliders. Place buckle at the end of the floor mat material nearest the vest connection buckle. Using a sharpie or other mark shoulder strap (ribbed side up) Using a leather punch tool or other crate a 1/8" hole through both layers of material. Rivet Buckle to both layers of floor mat material using 1/8" x 1/4" rivets. Use flat (rivet) washers on the back to keep rivets from pulling through floor mat material. Remove last tooth and taper belt at opposite end of squared edge trimmed earlier. Assembly belt in buckle. Insert lock Slide all components forward in buckle towards vest. Drill 1/8" hole through belt at pre-existing belt flat section which resides just outside of the buckle. Drill through the belt and both layers of floor mat material. I'll be place a rivet here to hold the belt and lock in the buckle. The river will be covered later with belt straps. Install rivet. Install 1" black nylon webbing belt retaining straps. These are used to give the illusion the belt is being belt against the shoulder straps (floor mat material). They will be sewn to the 2" floor mat material. Using 1" nylon webbing weave a 12" section through a slider and belt end as follows. Sew the ends leaving the slider to the floor mat material. Section finished To be cont... on hold awaiting additional HGT images
  17. 17. Buckle and belt preparation I was fortunate enough to purchase the buckle kit only from Chris Hale on to First Order FB page. Chris is selling the entire vest complete. This is what I purchased: 1" x 10" rubber belt (x2) 1" resin slider (x4) Resin Belt/buckle lock (x2) Resin Buckles (x2) First order of business, modify the belt. Remove the last six teeth section (approximately 1") at the square end of the belt (the belt is too long). Remove the last (7th) tooth leaving the base intact. On two of the sliders remove 1/3 as shown. On the opposite side of the slider cut out the section as shown. This area will be glued to the end of the belt. Round the edges of the remaining slider then using E6000 glue to the end of the belt. Regarding the buckles. Remove areas and round corners as indicated. On each side of the buckle drill a 1/8" hole for the mounting rivet. Preparing components for painting. Sand, clean and apply adhesion promoter. Using matte or flat black, spray pant components. Let dry. Back to section 10b shoulder harness assembly....
  18. Vest modification 10a. Shoulder harness Cut and sew in floor runner material to be used for upper shoulder harness. Cut and sew in new nylon webbing to be used for shoulder harness anchor. Cut two 2" x 2' sections of floor runner material. Now cut two 1-3/8" x 2' sections Place the 2" strips through the vest 2" buckle rib side down Place the 1-3/8" sections on top of the 2" sections, this time ribbed side up. Sew the three sections at the red line After sewing Next up, buckle and belt preparation...
