  1. Noah, I know this is an old thread but I'm curious as is you used E6000 to hold your snaps on your armor and if so, did you use a clamp to press it against the armor ? Thanks, Daniel
  2. OK, I'm gonna ask... What is / who is the maker of F/X armor ? Thank You, Daniel
  3. I have a somewhat odd question... I have looked at this URL to MAKE SURE I know how to wear the holster. I get that it's on the right side for ESB. But does ANYONE have any pictures of themselves as an ESB trooper with their holsters ? Weapon out preferably ? Thanks, Daniel http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_esb
  4. THIS IS AWESOME ! When going into any "hobby" I know there are always going to be added things that I just didn't think of and here you got the highlights for sure. This is something that will most likely be pinned right ? Thank You for posting it. And adding an extra 10-15% to the prices above would be a good idea to include the things I said, well I can make that, and after "making it" (Grin) realizing it would have been less expensive to buy first ! Grin... Daniel
  5. Here are the new boots. ------------- Not sure if this is to much, but I have read hundreds and hundreds of times within these forums about pictures, and I can only HOPE this helps someone else know that their efforts ARE worth while. BTW - I THOUGHT (hahahahahahahahaha) that I HAD to have the boots CLEANED down to the original color of the natural leather... THAT IS NOT the case. All you have to do is get rid of the outer layer of Wax / Shine, and then maybe scrub a bit more to get more off. I stopped when I put acetone on a clean rag and was not able to get the black dye off without rubbing hard. This process (for me) took 3 days (so far cause I'm still not finished) and it was in small increments of time when I could find them. Daniel BTW - I did try to include the actual images in this post, but I honestly do not know how.
  6. Thank You for the advise. I actually forgot that I even had a photo bucket account.
  7. 45 minuets !!! That is AWESOME !!! I was HONESTLY considering a belt sander or something like that because I tried it all... Even shaving cream BUT that was when I THOUGHT (THERE'S MY MISTAKE) that I had to get it down to the "natural leather" color ! OPPS !!! Daniel BTW - Do we post pictures here or is that a waste of drive space ?
  8. One thing I HAVE noticed and that's spending money here is REALLY REALLY easy... There are so many people here with talents that I would have never even thought existed till I got here. I don't like using the word amazed but when I see some of this stuff that's what comes to mind... Daniel Now on to look for a blaster...
  9. Grin, One step at a time AND breathing... Not sure If I can do that right now. Grin... And I like the word "specific" much better than strict as well. And I thought the thermal detonator came with the kit ? Guess I'm going to have to look into that as well. And a bit of a silly question about the boots... When trying to strip them down before painting, do we "JUST" get the top coat of wax off of them or do we keep going till no more black comes off? Thank You Again, gazmosis... And BTW - Would it bother you if I capped the G in your name ?
  10. Thank You again for getting back to me. There is a PM waiting for you. Daniel As for any Noob out there (like me) who can't keep their mind together and have 30 + tabs open bouncing around the Boots in question are on this thread. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/27491-any-other-white-leather-boots-besides-tkboots/
  11. Thank You for getting back to me, I honestly DO appreciate it. The holster is something I was already able to purchase, so I do have it and the loops are black. I have also been doing ALLOT of reading, and then some reading, and then a bit more reading and I'm still not 100% for sure IF I even want to , or HAVE to HAVE a holster to get the very basic approval. I know that weapons (for basic) are not a necessity, so in turn I need to ask, is the holster, for basic approval, necessary ? And gazmosis, sense it seems that you know your stuff WELL, I have to, OK, I NEED to ask a couple of other things, IF your time permits... I've been told over and over, via Facebook, and emails and other general areas of the same interest that FISD guidelines are STRICT, and I DO want to make sure I am within those guidelines, but I see little things that throw me off. I AM working on talking / typing to my Local Garrison, but I've waited almost 11 months (saving and stuff) to get this going and now IT HAS SHIPPED and can not even MAKE SURE my boots are correct, to start the white shoe polish process... So now on to the question, if I were to send you the link or post here (not sure about cross posting and again don't want to make people angry) would you be able to tell me if my ability to understand the details are good enough for the boots I purchased ? Thank You Again for your response, Daniel
  12. OK, so I know that everyone is busy and all so a bit more time I found my own answer. Yes I know I should have read the entire site before asking questions, but I am all kinds of excited and and wanted EVERYTHING YESTERDAY !!! Grin... So Daniel to answer you own question, YES, that holster is just fine. You can see from the link below : http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_rotj It's at the bottom and this holster will be great... YES YES, it is actually different than this holster : http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_anh_stunt But it's a different classification. I hope I answer my question for me... Daniel
  13. Has anyone who read this went through the process of walking away to wash your face so that others would not see you with tears in your eyes. Nope, Me neither... Daniel
  14. SCARY FOR SURE ! I'm still going to TRY to track it but I'm gonna have to keep it to myself. I've told a few people about allot of my hobbies, and now THIS. This is actually important and I just don't think people will understand this as much as even the scuba diving. Daniel
  15. Not sure what to do here. I know there are answers to this question at least 5Xs over but even searches lead me in circles when it comes to very specific or hand made items. Am I missing something. BELIEVE me it IS possible for me to miss stuff... As it is for the first few days I could not figure out why all my posts were Private ! YES, It took me THAT LONG !!! Grin... Daniel
  16. Thank You again for the post you made, It got more attention than I had expected. I got ALLOT of information (some here) but ALL KINDS on FaceBook. I DO trust here more of course however I was pointed to a link from here : http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_anh_stunt and was directed to the fourth item from the bottom , "Boots" and read it. So I asked a few more questions and got basically the same answer from just under 40 people who are in the 501st. If I want to just go for the Basic 501st approval, these boots will be fine as the seam isn't an issue until specifically stated For level three certification ? Now I did read and I know that these boots, pictured below have no No buckles or laces. Can you tell me if I'm being mislead by so many people on FB or are these boots OK for Basic approval. (I AM still looking for boots with no seams but $75.00 + for me, right now is kinda allot of money that I KNOW the wife would notice missing ! Grin...) Thanks Again, Daniel
  17. I've been reading and with all the info that's on here I would have thought for sure I would have found the proper location / url to place images for approval, or actually sense I haven't even gotten my armor yet (two weeks away and counting down) I've been looking for all the other stuff that is needed. I've found this holster and from the image from this link : http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_anh_stunt it looks to be ok. But I still wanted to make sure before putting the money down on it. Thank You, Daniel BTW - With the page in the link it shows the text for the three different classes of Storm Troopers, can someone tell me where to find the info on what the difference is other than more specific details, and allot of hard work to get from one level to the next ?
  18. Thank You for your post, I was thinking the same thing, but then as pointed out, I honestly didn't even notice the seams. For me, I was thinking that paying 75.00 plus is a bit steep, when here there are about $45.00 I'm now thinking FOR SURE there has got to be a way to make the seams disappear ? Bueller ? ? ? Bueller ??? Anyone ? Dan
  19. Thank You for hitting me back. I was curious, is there any way to get rid of the seam in the shoe. Putty, or epoxy or anything at all ? Dan
  20. Glen THIS IS AWESOME ! I'm always looking at price, (can't help it) and if you don't mind how much would you say you have invested into this. I too have a Hasbro, and am thinking it's the same kind. And as for time, would you say 10 hours or more ? Thanks for posting the pictures with the different LED colors, THAT ROCKS ! Daniel
  21. Hello all, I know this is going to sound a bit out there and all, but with the questions about where and how much and when boots will be available, who is the best person to tell us what boots qualify ? I would love it if there was a place that had an inventory large enough for everyone, so I've been looking over the past few months so here are just a few that I've found. Now, I'm a realist and I KNOW that all these boots are going to be up to qualifying and all but when and if they are not good enough, can someone PLEASE explain as to why they are not good enough. The good thing is, I've seen these reasons on more than one post (like to pointy of toes, or Laces, or even designs) but the more info that's posted about the "Why' as they are not good, it would be really helpful. Thank You All, Dan BTW - This is my first post here as I am new to this, but I really do want to know all I can before ordering anything that I'm not familiar with.
