  6. Yup, my brown box of Stormtroopery Goodness is on it's way (AM 2 to the UK) The 9 year old me is jumping up and down and wondering why it took so long to get around to getting myself a set of armour, the 47 year old me is doing the same Day 1 - Anaheim I know, the wait is killing me......standby for updates.
  7. Got to admit, I am looking forward to that particular challenge....
  8. Alas being from over this side of the pond, I have a longer wait Then there's the other empire "UK Customs" to contend with......
  9. Yay!, I have a tracking number Here's a couple of quote's from my emails concerning the upgrades. "These new shoulder, chest and back will make this the most accurate AM2 run yet, and will be able to be built to level 3 standards for the FISD which hasn't been able to be done w/ all original parts." "This chest is much more accurate and will meet all levels of requirements for all tiers of the FISD." I knew when I was considering which armour to buy, the thought of going for Centurion was at the back of my mind, I did not want to put all this effort into a set, then not quite make it to Centurion. of course that being said, a lot depends on my building skills
  10. Just an update to the above, as I am on the current list for a set of AM 2.0 During my wait, I kept being informed of improvements that were being made, the Chest Plate has been completely redesigned, along with improved Shoulder Bells and that AM 2.0 will now meet all tiers of FISD approval. Which is what I and no doubt a lot of potential buyers were waiting to hear, Centurion straight out of the box Should be receiving my tracking number any day now. Art
  11. Stealing...erm borrowing all these idea's for my scope conversion
  12. I went over each boot this morning with a very very light grain sandpaper, it took a lot of the residue off the surface and a fair bit of the dye. Had to be sure to avoid the stitching though as I don't want them falling apart before I get my armour built. Just curious, what did you use for whitening them ?
  13. Began the deglazing today.......taking a long time, did anybody experience a tacky residue on the boots while using it ? Hoping that will get less the more scrubbing I do.
  14. I got my Black Clifford James Chelsea Boots yesterday (£19.99) from Amazon. Soon as my deglazer arrives I am stealing....erm...copying everything you did Great Thread Art
  15. Collecting Original Comic Artwork, that gets expensive....real fast
  16. Dagnabbit!, I was sure I looked on the mighty wiki. Thanks for the link, it's much appreciated, now I can add another side project to the others, and I haven't even got my armour yet......but soon
  17. Okay, so here's something that has bugged me since I started my blaster builds. When I eventually finish my Sterling conversion I want to put it on a nice custom stand with an etched nameplate, however I also want to have a data plate on the display with the weapons specs, size, weight, manufacturer, rate of fire, you know the sort of things. I originally wanted it to look like a weapon that belonged to and was presented to a retiring trooper, however I would not think many made it that far. Now here's my problem, I know I have seen all this information somewhere, but for the life of me I cannot remember, anybody have any clues ? Thanks for any help Art
  18. Great thread, will be following closely for the day I receive a brown box of AM goodness
  19. And here's another reason why Star Wars is sucking all the money out of my wallet........I need one of these in my life
  20. Hi The new sets of AM 2.0 have Centurion level chest plates, it might be easier for you to get a new chest plate rather than doing a lot of trimming.
  21. One of the most import sizes I had to take into account was around my belly (measuring at belly button height) and not waist, but then I want to avoid the "shimming".
  22. Great thread, you asked a lot of the questions I have thought of even before I receive my brown box
  23. I have ordered and hopefully will soon be paying for my set of AM 2.0, then waiting for a brown box of my very own I chose the AM 2.0 because I needed the extra girth around my stomach, I am about 5.11 height, I really don't want to shim too much, if any, the AM 2.0 will hopefully give me more armor to play with before I have to do that. One of my concerns initially was that the chest piece would need to be swapped out to go for Centurion, however I was just recently informed by "TG" that they have remodelled the chest and that it will comply to Centurion standard, so depending on my skill in putting it all together, it is Centurion straight out of the box. Incidentally they also refined the shape of the shoulder bells. I know from reading different builds that the helmet is three piece instead of regular 2 piece.
  24. I had an update from TG last week concerning my order of a set of AM 2.0 armor, I want to go for Centurion straight out of the box. The backplate is Centurion level and they have redone the chest piece to Centurion standard also Skyler, I am about your size and opted for the AM 2.0 set to avoid as much shimming as possible.
  25. I wonder if something about the plastic being heated then the body parts being stretched over the mold has made them less likely to yellow, maybe it's a scientific answer involving changing it's properties. Good job on getting some of the original colour back.
