Seems that legs and "boots" snaps are fake and velcro backed. The "boots" ones almost for sure. For the legs I'm just guessing, but you could see that the armor joins on the inner side of the leg.

Hi guys, just buy a larger diameter gray PVC pipe, cut away a strip and close it on the new diameter. Help yourself with a heat gun to shape the new pipe to match the end caps. I've done that way with a 75 mms pipe, and worked perfectly. The trimming is barely unnoticeable. You don't need to paint it. http://forum.501italica.com/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=3817&start=105#p82516

I'm using a grey pvc plumbing pipe. Color is a kind of warm gray that seems to match well with the reference pictures.

Painting/coating the inside of the helmet
elleerre replied to Koyaanisqatsi's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Painted mine black inside, with matte black spray paint. Something called "spoiler paint" that is stronger than regular paint. Done it months ago. No smell at all at this moment. I'm pretty sure that a walk in an everage modern city is more toxic than putting such a painted bucket on. -
One OT question... According to this picture, is it right to suppose that the chest plate and the back plate were kept together joined with a black strap (under the arm)? If yes, is this valid for both ANH and ROTJ or only for the ROTJ version in the picture? Thanks, Lorenzo

Still here, just going on with the rest of the kit (blaster, mainly) and doing some shopping (canvas, leather, gloves, boots) for a while. The armor is trimmed out... I fear a bit to begin the build, maybe it's normal, I don't know.

HOWTO: Use Body Language
elleerre replied to DizzyStormtrooper's topic in Tutorials, Tips and HOWTOs
Thanks Derek. Plenty of good advices for a newbie like me. -
Ok, thanks!

Thanks guys.

According to the pulls, the right upper arm has a returning edge, while the left has none. Is it correct? How about to keep a RE on both? Thanks.
-
Yes sir. Thanks!
-
BTW I'm trimming grossly for now, leaving some space for any noob mistakes.

I'll give another look thanks! Hi it's the right side, around the arm. There are two steps, I'm in doubt if to trim on the groove between them, or to trim after the last one (the external one). At first sight i think I have to trim on the groove... isn't it?

Hi Robe, I'll send a line for sure if I'll found me in trouble, thanks. The greatest issue I've found until now is how much to trim on each part. I'm looking and looking and looking like you at other builds, but some infos will be inevitably lost on this matter. By the way I'll post here if I'll have some problems.

Thank you!

Do you see the other pictures? I can see it. Anyone has the same problem?

First question... this is the back plate. Which line I have to cut on? Thanks. Lorenzo

Hi everybody. At the end of august a brown box knocked at my door. When opened I've found a bunch of white plastic elements inside and, surprise, they told me that I could build a star wars' stormtrooper armor with them. Incredible, isn't it. So here we are. The brown box® opened And it's content, after a lightsaber duel with my son to make everything stay nice and clean on the floor (he wanted to wear it "straightaway") Now I've started trimming all the excess plastic, hoping to avoid a mess. I'm taking as a guide some other's ATA builds, but I know the road to the dark side is full of obstacles so I'll need your help for sure. After some try with lexan scissors, I've found my dimension in the "score and snap" technique, and I'm proceeding quite fast. Please stay tuned for inevitable problems & questions. Every suggestion will be appreciated a lot, even little things that you would normally give for granted. Enjoy with me this build, and thanks a lot in advance for your help. Cheers, Lorenzo

Mountains, mountains, mountains, good food, good beer. Nice people, nice women, the new year's concert from Vienna, the Dobbiaco-Lienz bike ride, the Loacker factory, have I said the mountains? What a marvellous Country.... A real paradise, joy of living. I'm glad to live at only 3 hours by car from the border, but it's a pity that Venice doesn't belong to the Empire anymore!

Got it, thanks. It's 6 mms Thanks to everyone, people, you have made a great job.

Last thing: is it possible to find the following distance? It's essential for the right positioning of the last element. Huge thanks in advance.
