I was thinking the same thing :-p

You should post on the local Garrison Titan boards. There are armor parties all the time.

Is this Shoulder Pauldron good?
Daetrin replied to Fyves's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
I have one I'm selling (orange) if you want it. $45 + shipping. It's a Rolf pauldron, one of the better ones. -
FYI, I'll start to delete/mod posts that are not on topic. Talking about deer meat is not relevant.

Actually, the 501st is about the most screen (seen) accuracy (as opposed to prop replication) that we can get, and this forum being part of the 501st continues that mission. You are right, if it looks overly sharp compared to what we saw on screen, it's a step down, not up. This is why perfectly symmetrical helmets always seem a bit off to use as well. So, you have it right Mark. If anyone is uncertain, it's well worth re-reading both the 501st and FISD charters.

Since they are both based on the same armor it's just a matter of getting the right accessories. Fun, for sure.

Stay on target troops - keep the flames off and let's stick to data.

Any really tall/big stormtroopers?
Daetrin replied to JimSchultze's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Thanks! I'm hoping to make it over to the UK this year and if so, will try to grab a set while I'm there. -
Wow - what a great start! Keep chipping away at this - it's coming along well.

Any really tall/big stormtroopers?

You should. I use RT shins with my ATA and had with my TE2 as well, but the plastic is a wee bit off. I'm happy to go TM legs if they will look better. -

Do you make longer thighs too? How well would these blend in with other armors, such as MTK or ATA? -
Thanks. The helmets look good for sure so a nice portent of what is to come. I'd agree though a few tweaks would make them look better. Maybe someone who has an inside track to Dana, etc. could help out

Sandtroopers are just dirty TK's with a pack. The differences in armor are simply due to changes from filming from Tunisia to London. If ANH had been filmed today the armor would have been identical, just like in TFA. Or if FISD had existed before MEPD, it's more likely that there would be no MEPD, and the sandtrooper would have been "TK: Desert Trooper" under FISD.

They will have to be, just like ANH armor can be clean or scuffed. While most NO TK's are clean, after the battle of Jakku there are certainly weathered guys walking around. My crystal ball says that my TFA TK will be like my ANH TK - start out clean and over time as it gets scuffed & sratched from use, I'll just weather it to match. Mathias - no, you can't have a clean suit & a dirty helmet. I was thinking he'd have a dirty suit and then just two helmets, one with & one without the hand print.

Star Wars Battlefront (DICE) Shock Trooper
Daetrin replied to mikedwelle94's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
This is pretty much how the Incinerator Trooper and Stormtrooper Commander are: it's essentially ROTJ style with paint, and you can use any ANH armor as a base, just need some mods. In fact most TKC & ICN troopers - even EI - are ANH based. -
I think it is best to differentiate ANOVOS as a whole and this particular project. As has been stated, they've been excellent with their Star Trek and Battlestar Galactica lines. I myself have personally bought a bunch of BSG items from them in the past and they've been fantastic. That said, I think it's clear that there have been mis-steps with the SW line to date. Severe quality issues with the first batch of helmets and inconsistent customer support being one. Second is incorrect information on the TFA suits. There are also issues with Vader items too. Looking forward, their customer server seems to be getting back on track (my experience and reading posts of others), and their ANH TK items has enjoyed more transparency. Based on this I'm presuming 2016 will be a better year. Yes, there is a set of 501st members hoping they will fail, but the majority seem to be wishing them success. It would be illogical to paint every 501st member with the same brush, just as it is illogical to try to rationalize and downplay their mistakes.

Agreed - would suggest having 2 helmets for this reason...
-
Nope. FN for all we know was Fun New guy or something. He and 2 of his mates were sanitation workers on their first mission. There were clearly TK callouts on the radio twice, so it's clear that there were TKs on the battlefield.

I wonder how she got selected?

Yeah, it was a cool scene and my wife was tickled that it was "James Bond".
