  1. Story of the Elephant stuffed with dumplings? Alrighty then....haha Good luck!
  2. I do it boots, shins, thighs, neck seal, main body, and then the arms all as one. With he adjustments to my AP for the chest and abdomen, I got lucky with the snaps on the inner shoulder straps and being able to attach the shoulder bells to them fairly easy....
  3. Looks great...only recommendation I would make is move you TD clips out closer to the caps and the the ends should line up with the white piece. That was a recommendation on my EIB. Good luck
  4. Hey David....have to agree with Eric. One thing they stress here is stay away from eBay armor...sorry you had to find out the hard way.
  5. I always wondered how many times the guys in the movies scratched up their faces...
  6. Awesome save with the tooth! Will be following with great interest!
  7. I think it's all up to how comfortable the kids are and how well they know your character. Waving and giving a hand up for a high five and even a thumbs up makes you more approachable than being shorter. You'll know right away whether they are comfortable or not by their face or running behind their parent so you can back away. While all troops and crowds are different, parents were good at helping at my troop.
  8. Congrats and good luck! I had my first troop a couple of weeks ago with one other member of the Ohio Garrison and like Steve said, you will remember it forever. I can't stop looking at the pics a buddy of mine took for me. I did end up having a kid who followed me non stop....he started out okay but just kept at it. Even to the pointy of my buddy taking a couple of stickers off my back. I learned payin attention to everyone at the event was the best thing to do. I greatly appreciated havin someone there with experience but I also learned it's best to walk around, carefully! As if looked and walked around, I waved and held up my hand to give a high five to gauge the kids reactions, even the adults as well. Some parents of the kids that were hesitant walked over to me and gave me a high five to show their kids it was okay....of probably close to 50 to 75 kids, only one cried....I felt horrible but the father gave me a high five. One time while walking around, I looked over to see a girl in a wheel chair and she had a huge smile and just waving at me....it was a wonderful feeling. A couple of other kids told me about their toys, a little girl kept telling me she wasn't scared of me cause she knew my blaster was fake. Steve and Brian obviously gave the best advice....while we love what we're doing, seeing the kids and adults smiling, wanting pictures, the best thing for me to think about is we're helping them to forget whatever their problems are, even for a little bit! Good luck!
  9. Someone with more experience can answer that....I just assume it depends on your head size and helmet. I had to trim some of the neck area off to make it easier to put on....still a little rough taking it off Unless you plan on putting it on and taking it off constantly on troops, I think if you've got the screws inside cut down so you don't scratch yourself up, and obviously can take your helmet off, your okay. And like Evan said, having the S trim helmets keeping your neck from getting scratched up while wearing it and your face doesn't get scratched up taking the helmet off....
  10. I found padding on the top and sides helped level off the helmet and kept it away from my neck...I have some trouble getting my helmet off but as long as it comes off.
  11. What an awesome looking piece of work...can't believe I didn't see this until now!
  12. I finally got it right....Most of the weekend I tried getting the counter window size right, couldn't do it. I just did it in half an hour! Doing this stuff is loads of fun but sometimes....
  13. Thanks Steve for confirming . Can't get the accurate look let alone be that creative lol
  14. Thanks Si, especially for the notes. I think I'm going to start fresh with a new piece of abs and file the window Dow. To where it needs to be using your template...I'll putty what need to but starting fresh will be easier...
  15. Never thought of that! I may give that a try....thx Edit update....I took the counter piece off and filled it in with putty! I had gotten a template from SIMpixels when he sent me the counter numbers jpg he made but the outer area of the counter window was a little short. I'll be referencing that again! Thanks again for the putty idea Aaron, one of those things should have thought of!
  16. Hey all, I just added a counter to my hengstler and wanted to get some thoughts on the number size....Doing this gave me a lot of grief! I had a lot of trouble cutting out the hole in the ABS piece. Since it gave me so much trouble, when I finally had a nice cut, I found the hole a little bigger than I wanted so I made the numbers a little bit bigger to fit the hole. Now after a while since working on it, I'm wondering if its okay....As you can see, I applied putty and waiting it to dry so I can sand it down and paint. Any thoughts of on the counter size? Will it have any affect on getting Centurion status? Thanks to all...
