Gazmosis is right. I was just having a bit of fun referring to the bit of merchandise we make at the garrison, detachment, and legion level. The true perks are the smiles and memories.

There is also the sweet swag you can buy and also the occasional high profile troops or trooping with a celeb. But those are rare and it's the charity troops that leave a smile on your face long after they are done that makes this worthwhile.

Free to attach my holster to my belt?
RampantLion replied to Grimez's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
I'd wait until you have the plastic attached to the belt so that you can place the holster correctly. As far as instructions go you can use a punch or a soldering iron to make the holes. Just make sure you measure correctly. There is a diagram in the tutorials. -
Very cool. Lag is making this easier to watch

Tools needed for untrimmed -> finished?
RampantLion replied to Grimez's topic in ANH (Stunt and Hero)
Curved lexan scissors: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002POUU54/ref=redir_mdp_mobile?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_details_o02_s00_i00 Straight lexan scissors: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0006O4Z5G/ref=redir_mdp_mobile?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_details_o03_s00_i00 Tin snips definitely can power through the ticket parts with ease but you can get in closer with lexan scissors. Just my two cents. -
Bottom for this compression top?
RampantLion replied to Grimez's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
Matching isn't a big worry since so little black shows anyways. Eastbay used to be the place to go for the top and bottom but now they have grey stitching and obnoxious branding on the waistband... Anyone have particular suggestions? -

Hyperfirm vs. doopydoo, MG-34/DLT-19
RampantLion replied to KarinOlava's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
+1 for hyperfirm durability. I have dropped tested my e-11 on concrete and only had minor scuffing. The DLT-19 is a great light weight. In the end there will always be the hyperfirm fans vs the doopydoo fans, as each has its merits. (Mac vs PC) -

Looks great! Your armor is very well put together. I do have one question though, what is happening with the kidney piece in the full body right side shot? It looks a little wonky there but it looks fine in the other photos. Again very good job. It's great to see some more ladies in armor. Now if I can only convince my wife... -

E6000 isn't too bad to undo. To undo cover strips you'll need a thin flattip screwdriver and either a hobby knife or razor blade. Pry up one end of the strip with the screwdriver and cut the dried glue with the blade. Take your time and it should be fine. I've undone my thighs in this fashion. Once it is off you can remove the remaining glue using scrap ABS plastic, a fingernail, or a wooden tongue depressor. Good luck.

Anyone have this undersuit?
RampantLion replied to DarthBrute's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
The eastbay top works great and is available with black stitching, but the new eastbay tights have colored stitching which is difficult to blacken out. I would search for another brand for the tights. -
Pm sent.

Thanks Gazmosis. It does look much better. The biceps are currently strapped with elastic/Velcro to the shoulder bells but it keeps shifting out of place. After some thought I think what they may need is a touch of padding inside and gluing the bicep straps directly to the bells. I'll also add the forearm straps with snaps. I'll give the biceps another go tonight and should get this done this week. Thanks for your support.

Thanks Gazmosis for the constructive criticism. I have made several of the corrections already: 1) Rounded paint on helmet (I used a toothpick to pick at the edges): 2) Trim bottom of ear/tuck under rubber seal (picture taken before rounding paint edges): 3) Elbow gap. I'm having trouble with this one. I can make them stack but it greatly restricts my movement. Ideally I would like them to stay with an inch or so under the bell. I may add straps on top of the inner coverstrips and attach those to the shoulder bell to keep it in place. Any ideas? 4) Trim cover strips on the back of the thighs: 5) Trim holster straps (They were over an inch in width): Do these adequately address the issues? I wish the elbow gap was an easier fix... Edit: Added note to 2)
