  1. Lol Congrats! I am considering a Mechanical Crewman costume while I am waiting on my RT to get here sometime this year. Haha Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  2. I felt that In should share my excitement. Lol I am doing my first TK build and have ordered almost everything I need. I went with a Hyperfirm blaster as my first blaster (I will test my lack of crafting skills on a Doopy later. Lol) and it will arrive today marking this as officially the first day of this project taking off I suppose!! (My Eastbay body suit pieces arrive tomorrow but those aren't quite as exciting. Haha) *sigh* Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  3. ^ I second this question. All of this anxiety built up to get my armor here and suddenly I am plagued with fear of ruining it on a troop. lol I have however read on a thread or two that it seems that a lot of people feel that normal wear and tear add to a more accurate "battle damaged" look.
  4. I am SO glad that I am frugal with my money and said, "Hmm...before I spend that much I might want to research" when I was looking at the store bought stuff. Whitearmor.net saved me much time, money and most likely tears. lol
  5. Insanely cool! Awesome job, man! :icon_bow: :icon_bow:
  6. So....the higher the E number the stronger and more bad an impolite person the glue will be? lol Notice on E-6100, "repairs concrete". If trooping is as hard on the armor as you all say, would a tougher glue like that be better? lol
  7. *gasp* GENIUS!!
  8. *sigh* A Hyperfirm is what I am buying for my first blaster....god I would probably give a Darth Vader scream if that happened. haha
  9. Well, like most people that I have read about I want my first set completed ASAP. I figured having the Hyperfirm ready to troop would be great and then in the near future order a Doopy's and try my hand at it.
  10. *sigh* All of this Doopy talk is making me have an inferiority complex for just buying a Hyperfirm.
  11. Following this for sure.
  12. Oh boy do I understand where you are coming from, my friend. I started my path to becoming a TK not too long ago and every single reply in this thread is solid advice. The more you read the more your feelings of becoming overwhelmed will become feelings of excitement and anticipation. I don't know how many PMs and threads I have jumped in on saying, "Hey I am new but..." and telling people, "...thanks for answering all of my noob questions!" lol I realized that if I had a particular question I would narrow it down and put it in the search bar on the main page of the forums and BAM! I had soooooo many threads that I could read and compare, study, take notes and gain knowledge from. Then I would take notice of the people who post on the threads quite a bit and pick their brains. I have finally started ordering items with confidence that I will have a great set of armor to join the 501st with....well...in a couple months anyway when the armor is complete. lol
  13. I reached this thread via the iComm website. I assume that this is a dead thread and nothing has come of your plans, Jim or are you close?
  14. *sigh* The more I research the more anxious I get, both good and bad anxious. lol I gave Rob my deposit the other day and I am scouring the threads looking at various ways to assemble my armor when it gets here. Man, I am just praying my lack of crafting skills doesn't kill this project for me.
  15. I love the newsletter! Great stuff here. Congrats to Solcar23!
  16. I agree, I thought the same thing myself. lol They must get the SAME noob questions aaaaaaallllll the tiiiiiiiiiime. Hey, they make good money though I am sure. : ) lol
  17. .....a microwave tv dinner tray on the back..... holy hell
  18. Yeah...talk about answering noob questions...Rob is the man. I was pretty nervous about this whole venture until I bounced some questions off of him. Great guy, I should be placing my order with him tonight!!
  19. I would like to make this my first neckseal.
  20. Luckily I manage a suit store, my tailor is doing all of my measurements for me. haha
  21. lol Glad I have spent a ton of time on FISD before making out my list of who to order from! lol
  22. Hmm...thanks for the tip.
  23. Ah, very useful pictures. Thanks!
  24. The non-rivet method being if you want to go Centurion, right?
