  1. I have called 3 CPAs and gotten three different answers. Lol Crazy how much grey area there is in our dealings with the IRS. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  2. Lol You got the your five digits that spells Clamps? Nice! Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  3. Just post your questions and you'll have plenty of feedback from the folks on here. We will help guide you! Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  4. Thanks for all of the feedback guys and hopefully this will be good for others who wonder the same thing. Sounds like the only factor that would make me choose one over the other is weather or not I want to take the extra time to heat gun the plastic plates to the shape of the armor. Nylon sounds like the way to go.
  5. I like the newsletter in length but that may be because I am new and soaking it all up. Lol I do read it via email though because when people quote the newsletter in the forums it drags the thread length way out. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  6. So why Plumber's Goop and not E6000? Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  7. Lmao Love it! Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  8. So what have you learned from using the nylon method, Eric? Do you troop often and have there been any issues? Did you use E6000 like most people do with the plastic snap plate method? Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  9. According to the how-to you did it the hard way. lol I like the soldering iron method.
  10. Yeah the how-tos are there I am more curious on people's opinions on why they used them and some pros and cons.
  11. If this has been a topic already forgive me, I used the search feature and went pretty far back before I gave in and decided to start this thread. What do you use for your snaps method? Plastic snap plates or nylon and why? Pros and cons? Thanks everyone!
  12. Nice! Three RTs on one thread. lol I am waiting on my RT as well, pretty sure I will score mine in November. How about you guys? I went to Eastbay for my under suits, Hyperfirm for my blaster, Darman for my neck seal, Sonnenschein for my hand guards and d ring, TK Bondservent will be doing my holster, ordering boots from TK boots, RT for all of the armor, I am going to buy decals for my blaster and helmet as well as s trim from Trooperbay, I'll buy an AKER iCOMM for voice......I think that's about it....?
  13. Shhhh! Don't let Locitus find out. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  14. Ah yes, I was reading the newsletter from my phone. I missed that. Lol Thanks for the info. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  15. I'm on the same page here, I won't get my kit until November so I was curious when does the voting close and the changes take place
  16. Great newsletter....but...do I really not get access to the pumpkin templates until I have my 5 digits?? Lol Awwww. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  17. Hmm...well I ordered my first kit from RT pre trimmed because I didn't trust my skills but after more research it sounds possible. Lol I think my next one I will start from scratch like this. Sounds kind of fun (minus the having to reorder a piece due to accidents). Can't wait to start the process though! Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  18. Alright brothers and sisters, direct from one of the head honchos that I emailed: " The discussion about tax deductions for charity and possible write off's seems to differ from State to State (and sometime CPA to CPA). There are members who write off a certain percentage of mileage to and from events, meal costs, costume costs, etc., as allowed by state or federal Law. This requires a very detailed receipts keeping process to ensure you are covered. Please check with your local CPA to determine if there are any options available to you. Rgds, Scott Allen, Legion Charity Officer" Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  19. Yeah I am checking into that. I am told that there might just be a way. Stay tuned. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  20. Since I am not a member yet I can't read that. Lol Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  21. Okay so after talking to a local CPA in great detail the issue starts with a simple yes or no question: Is the 501st registered with the IRS as a 501c3 organization? Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  22. Actually now I am intrigued, I am going to talk to a customer of mine who is a CPA. I will share whatever information he gives me with everyone.
  23. Where are the head honchos on this thread? Lol I'm sure they can help guide us. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
  24. Sweeeeeeeeeeeet! Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
