Side shims for EIB and Centurion Question
TK-42779 replied to rhapsodyred99's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Boom! There it is, brothers. I feel a lot better now about this, I have been studying posts on here and buying everything I need to go Centurion right off the bat when my RT comes in and this was one of my only concerns. Thanks Tom! Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 -

Side shims for EIB and Centurion Question
TK-42779 replied to rhapsodyred99's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
There have been quite a few examples given and than you for yours as well, the issue I am trying to address is if and how can we achieve what the CRL calls for exactly? It calls for a SINGLE visible seam line. As Locitus stated before, what people are doing to close the gap is creating more than one seam line, in your case you now have two seam lines per side. Hopefully Tom will drop everything that he is doing in his life to answer us. lol (Kidding of course....I know he is a busy guy....) -
Well the printer and I are close to finalizing and offered will be that design on a tshirt (men's and women's) and a hoodie. At the same time I am going to try and get a lapel pin approved. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

Vern's (TK Bond servant 2392) Holster
TK-42779 replied to TK-42779's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
I do. I really like the look of the screws he used to attach the tan straps to the holster so I am PMing him to see if I can buy them from him or see where he sourced them so the look is the same attached to the belt. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 -

Well you guys that put in your time and effort need to be recognized for the great work that you do. I'm especially big on the customer service side and so far everything that I have purchased has come from good people. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 -
I wanted to post a topic praising Vern, his product and service. I researched various holsters and after seeing Vern's name over and over I sent him a PM inquiring about his version. He was prompt in his responses, informative and at the time he was in between runs and kept communication with me often about when I could fork over my money to him. I gave him my information and placed my order for an ANH tan finished holster for my Hyperfirm blaster and anxiously waited...even bugged him a few times being impatient. Lol One thing I really appreciated was that he kept his product thread updated when he ran in to a supply issue letting us know of a slight delay. So here it is: While he asks for specific measurements of your blaster I just simply told him that I had a Hyperfirm and look, it came in fitting perfectly! I have no other holsters to compare to but Vern's quality feels and looks top-notch in my opinion. I did however overlook the part about requesting the screws for attaching the holster to the belt. So be sure and take note of that part when ordering if you want to save yourself some time and get that with your order. Thanks for taking the time and effort to provide great service and a fantastic product, Vern! I will be sure to share this post with others who are looking for a good addition to their project. Side shims for EIB and Centurion Question
TK-42779 replied to rhapsodyred99's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I have PMed Tom to weigh in on this. After seeing many similar topics posted asking for guidance on this I think we need some sort of official definition on what is acceptable. I know myself, I want to get my kit and not have to shell out more hard earned money because I do something irreversible like riveting a side shim piece or do something that might not ruin the kit but might mar it permanently. -

As Locitus said, the CRL for Centurion calls for "a single visible seam line." What Evolver79 did was make two seam lines. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 -

TK-42779 replied to rhapsodyred99's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Well we shall see. I know quite a few people might cringe when I say this but I had Rob trim and make my kit to my size.....so....a matter of time until we see what needs to be done. I have emailed him to keep him in the loop in case he has been too busy. -
lol I actually thought to myself, "This guy is hardcore. He has cupholders!"

So front and back shims, then those two seams you created is caulked and shaped/sanded down to make a smooth surface leaving the center seam/gap?
