  1. So does anyone else use the harness setup like Pablo? I like the ideas because I imagine (since I have no armor yet. *sigh*) that it would keep everything right where you want it when trooping.
  2. lol Well yes, of course. My question (without ever having seen a set of armor yet in my hands) is that the snaps are set onto swuares of white and then glued to the armor. I was just curious what his choice of material was for the little squares.
  3. Hey Pablo, this looks like a great way to rig the armor. I have no skills in this crafting and will get my armor some time this year so I am doing all of the research now. The snaps that are attached to the armor, you attach them how?
  4. I see a lot of people talking about Doopy builds, how about the one they offer assembled? http://www.doopydoos.com/ultimate-stormtrooper-anh-e-11-blaster-mk3-1742-p.asp
  5. Yeah I was just trying to figure out how to delete a thread. lol I had taken a minute to compare it to the picture on the 501st reference library. It is pretty ugly.
  6. Being that I am new to this and haven't even yet held an E-11 in my hand, how does this look to you veterans?
  7. Okay sorry if I am missing something but I had looked at the icomm/aker setup and, why don't people use the voice activated feature instead of the ptt?
  8. Holy hell, I haven't even ordered a kit but reading all of these various forums makes me want more and more to get rolling. This is a very supportive and friendly group. Wow. I hope as I get involved that I can lean on you guys too.
  9. My eyes are tired from scouring the forums for info and my bookmark list is full of pages to compile. lol I am of bigger proportions as well and was concerned how armor would look on me but I am glad I saw this, now I am more confident in spending the money to join the 501st and my goal was also EIB right out of the gate as well. This was good to see. Still pretty nervous about assembly though..... lol
  10. I have been emailing with RT-MOD and he has been a great help and even offers the shimming for me to my size. I am realy leaning toward that, unless someone disagrees with having the shiming done for me but honestly, I live in the middle of Missouri and the chances of me finding an armor party to help with that or something is slim. lol I have never done this type of crafting and would be severely worried that I would screw something up.
  11. I am new and just trying to help so if I am not supposed to post this link for Lucasfan7's question then sorry in advance. lol This is where I found the icomm/aker for purchase. http://tkproductsllc.net/product/icomm-imperial-communication-system/
  12. Okay since we are talking measurements, I really want someone to asnwer this question before I give one of the (much researched) kit makers that I have been in contact with my hard earned money. Is it possible for bigger dimension guys to look decent in TK armor? For example these measurements: 6'1"ish Calf- 18.5 Thigh- 27 Waist- 44 Forearm- 13.5 Bicep- 16.5 Head- 23.5 Everything is a muscular build except obviously for thr 44" waist. I would HATE to spend all of this money and then look ridiculous trying to dress and troop and look silly. Thanks so much.
  13. Okay, first post here! Woo! I also am doing a TON of research and because I have NEVER done anything like this I am talking with RT about getting my gear from him. My intention is to submit myself for acceptance in the 501st and start trooping after I saw the 501st represented at the Chicago Wizard World comic con. So my sizes are as follows: Height-6'1"ish Calf- 18.5 Thigh- 27 Waist- 44 Forearm- 13.5 Bicep- 16.5 Head- 23.5 He said that he can add "shims" to make his kit fit for me (for an extra charge of course). My question, do these "shims" take away from the look = reduce the acceptable look that the 501st wants? I would love to even attain a higher acceptance level of level two or three acceptance. I know that you folks are helping tons of new people so I thank you in advance. I am so pumped to get this project started.
