Thanks for the link. Looks like anovos might have missed the mark when it comes to a screen accurate replica and made some concessions in some places for some reason or another.
-
The screen helmets indeed do not have that really high ridge in the temple area. The part under the chin I'm not sure if thats just an angle problem making the line invisible at the angle. The one on the left is a screen helmet and the right is the anovos? So where did the photo on the left come from?

I think you could get $50-75 for this as it is. The paint is really rough being why you couldn't get $125 in my opinion. If you were to add more details like you mentioned like buying a latex zombie mask or something like this and somehow affixing it to the inside so that it would be possible to wear the finished helmet without having to put on a latex mask (you know what I mean?) you could get $125-$150 for it.

Basically any armor would fit you pretty much out of the box except AM, AM2.0 and RT. You're a good size for building. I would also suggest TM armors.

Tall guy looking to start his first build

Most armor vendors will sell parts separately and TM is no exception. I know for a fact he will sell individual parts upon request. The problem with mix/matching vendors is nearly all of them are slightly different shades of white. I know TM's 1 and 1.5mm is white but when held next to T/MC or AP looks to have a yellow tinge. This color variation is also on the movie suits but it's not noticed since all the suits are from the same material. However if you were to put a shin form TM and a thigh from RT, you would see the difference. TM offers a 2mm acryllic capped ABS that is brilliant white and this might match better. I don't work for TM or get any money for advertising, but I should -
Any Venders thinking about making the new EP VII TK?

Yes, an entirely new generation of new types of troopers! -
Oh, crap I see what you were asking now.You were specifically looking at the doopy guards. Still I will post the originals and see if they are indeed different or it's just the doopy kit.
-
I'll take photos of my 2 original flash guards tonight. I would not trust the doopy ones, they look like dog chow compared to the real ones.

Hi Jed, are you military over there? If so this will open your options due to the APO. Coming personally from another tall guy (6'6", 220) I can only recommend Troopermaster armors. The only armor I ever trooped in was a TM. TM has several things going for him in regards to taller guys. The number 1 thing is that he offers an XL set of shins. These are 2 inches longer and a little larger than normal shins to fit the bigger guys. This makes a huge difference in the look. In my signature you will see a like to previous builds. Look at the photos on the first one it is my centurion application photos. So you can get an idea of how it looks on a taller guy. The only catch is that you have to have about a 34W jeans size and no "gut" in order to get the armor to fully close without the use of shims. RT is made with a mind for larger troopers, but I feel it's build not really for taller troopers so much as bigger troopers. It can fit the tall trooper but the length of the shins kills it. I bought an RT-Mod as well but I liked the sizing on the TM better and the ultra accuracy of the TM was very interesting to me when compared to the RT mod. RT is a great armor and Rob is a pleasure to work with, but in the end I picked the TM armor as I felt is was the best option for me. I would explore both options and see where it leads you. -
The armor for the chosen is the property of the people because they bought it. They were not using special screen made armors, it is the ANOVOS kit they bought and assembled.

I will announce here, but will also setup a thread for it giving all of the details we have collected in one post. Don't fear, you won't miss it! -
Episode 7 Stormtrooper Helmet, WIP
Dday replied to Dday's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
This is just the helmet. The armor will be vacuformed ABS similar to the original suits, and in it looks like the helmets are resin rotocast. I know there is at least one TK maker who is looking to make the TK7 armor and helmet all in formed ABS... but you'll have to wait for this build thread on it's own. -

I don't think we in the Legion will have any problem with continuing as we are in regards to armor and prop makers. I also do not think that ANOVOS will try to smack down the armor makers for the legion either. ANOVOS is grown from within the Legion and they know how it works. Also I do not see the legion armorers really hurting the ANOVOS reputation or how much money they make. There is enough money and suits to go around to keep everyone in business. What ANOVOS will have that all other makers do not is they have a cast from original, licensed suit. This can not be trumped by any legion maker, unless they get their hands on a film suit and cast this. Someone might have a problem with this, but I doubt it will happen any time soon. The legion in General supplies Disney and LFL with troopers for their high profile events when they need a quality of trooper they know we can provide. I don't think they will crap in their own backyard just to spite us. The legion and Disney/LFL have a nice symbiotic relationship and I expect this will continue. Everyone will keep on, keepin' on and everyone will continue to be happy. -
Are these the actual gloves or just ones that are very similar is the real question.

Episode 7 Stormtrooper Helmet, WIP

Bump With the new trailer Roy and I have all of the details we need to finish off the model and get it into prototyping. Once we're ready for this we will be informing the forums and be running a kick-starter type setup to help foot the cost of this project and give you as the consumers a chance at a lower price for the kit. Details to come as we get closer to prototyping. -

Correct, Roy and I have been working on the model for the EP7 Helmet. Well mostly Roy Now with the big reveal out we will have the additional details of the screen used helmets at celebration as well as the new trailer Roy will be putting the finishing touches on it and it will be sent to prototyping. Be on the lookout for a pre-order setup soon to help fund production and get your helmets at a reduced price. -
Agreed, I guess $450 was now a good price when you look back in hindsight.
-
If you follow the storyline it was Anakins from EPIII, handed over to Luke by Obi in EPIV, and lost by Luke in EPV when his hand was cut off by Vader. Somehow recovered and passed on later.

You've done a great job on the mods and paint. I'm not a fan of Ozys sculpt as there are too many inaccuracies with it and he was one of the main guys saying there was no Mic tip, but at least he made an upgrade to make is more accurate, even if it's a ton of work to get it ready. Looks like you were up to the task though, well done!

3D printed Three part Mic Tip project ( Hovi Mix Pa2 )
Dday replied to Vaj's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
The problem with the black resin is that you would have to paint the insides white. One way or another you have to paint. Outside or inside. White or Black. -

Nicely done! Looks like you are in Germany based on the language in your 3D software.. Maybe Germany -
My pleasure! I'm glad to have contributed in any way to this project.
