  1. AH BAZINGA! Finally, got them to stick! Used Walt's suggested method, and I think the cells have bonded together. A Wookie couldn't pull those handguards off. Thank you everyone for your quick advice. Less than 24 hours from near burning them to making them perfect.
  2. That looks like a promising prospect, Ingird! Thank you. I am going to try a different approach first, but if it doesn't work, then I may need to consider that. Although, if this doesn't work...
  3. Will be good for people to look our for this guy then and to get helmets from the true source.
  4. Saw this guy has a grip of assembled but unpainted helmets. Legit? Is this someone from the FISD? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Star-Wars-TK-Stormtrooper-Helmet-/140734303639?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20c46b0d97
  5. These are the ones that are already white. Is latex better when it comes to gluing? I didn't think there was much of a difference between rubber and latex.
  6. I assume you are referring to the locktite with the activator pen? Unfortunately, that is not available here. They have every other type of locktite super glue though. Will regular be okay?
  7. I am getting sooooooooooooooooooooooooo frustrated! I got my rubber hand guards from trooperbay. They are legit, thanks goes out to trooperbay. However. I glued them to the gloves using the locktite super quick epoxy, put some books on them and left them for 24 hours. Peeled them off like a wet towel. Ok. It's okay! I then used CA glue like I have seen mentioned in the forums and fowllowed the same proccess. When I went to check it.... SAME RESULT!!!! What do I need to do to get them to stick instead of peeling off the glove like a bun off from a wet hamburger?
  8. We've got a guy that uses velcro. It falls off at every. Single. Troop. Just sayin'
  9. Thank you for your gracious offer Andy. I will try and find them locally though. I will attempt the score and snap technique also. Thanks guys - Troopers helping Troopers at it's finest.
  10. After researching this for awhile I have mostly only turned up the "Shopping list" posts for trimming tools, so Ʀā‚¬ā€™Ć£Ā£Ć£Ā¦Ć£ĀÆĆ£ā€žĆ£ā€˜Ć£ĀŖĆ£ā€žĆÆĀ¼ I would like to know what the best "scissors" are for trimming armor. Don't really want to use the dremmel. So, in your opinion what is best? I'm trying to find something that will just glide right through ATA's ABS. Note: please explain in detail what I am looking for. Pictures would be GREAT. Everything here is packaged in Japanese, so just "type x" won't be enough info. Thank you all in advance.
  11. These are amazing and I can not believe that I did not know about these before. These are 100% invaluable! This may seem very stupid to everyone but how should I print these? Do i just right click and select "print picture" or should I save the picture and then print it into a certain format i.e. 5"x7" , 4"x6" etc. etc. Any help would be great!
  12. From my understanding - exactly the same. As far as acceptance - they need some work first.
  13. I've never seen anyone just come right out and say 'why buy from another maker' and actually specifiy a name. That's.... I don't really know what to say. I'm so sorry this guy is doing this. You want me to take a bounty out on him?
  14. Our opinions are good but in the end it is all up to you. You have to go with what appeals most to YOU. Look at the pictures side by side of the two helmets and go with the one that you look at and pops most for you. I personally like the Stunt because I like that they are the original. Those guys that blast through the door in the first scene of ANH... That's what I wanted to be. The Hero helmets imply that there is a Rebel underneath
  15. Well, I certainly am not at a level where I write CRLs, but I will add my 2 cents: I believe that the blaster has to be ROTJ because that is the type that is used by the TKCs in The Force Unleashed.(Which is where the CRL is derived from???) Also, I am not sure I understand your folding stock question. I wasn't aware that having a functioning folding stock was necessary for ANY of the CRLs, even Centurion. If so, that is surprising. It would be very difficult, as you would almost have to have a deactived Sterling to have this option, and those can cost as much as armor. That would be very impractical IMHO.
  16. Thanks Mike, but I actually already did! Those will be used on a new helmet. Finding stuff for my exsisting one is just not going to happen
  17. This is a very interesting topic to read. The Empire certainly had girls in their military. It's more prominent in the novels though. I defiently agree with leaving your voice as is. I would love to talk during troops! I feel so akward speaking English when I know no one understands. Japanese people are very funny though. They are convinced that Stormtroopers are foreigners because the movie is just translated with subtitles here. They think we all speak only English anyway!
  18. see this forum for thoughts on these sir: http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=18973&pid=229882&st=0entry229882
  19. Helmets must have three scews per side with one above and below the rank bar and one towards the base of the helmet. Okay I got it. But there is no specification on what these screws should be. However, what I have seen based on the movie screen shots and what EVERYBODY uses, is that they should be flat head countersunk (flat) In Japan I CANNOT find flat head screws. They just don't sell it. Period. I asked attendents in two different hardware stores. (with difficulty. my Japanese is very basic) and they said they only have philips head everything. However, on base I can get flat head bolts with the 'rounded head' instead of the countersunk. Would this be acceptable? I wish I could explain the frustrations of living here. Sometimes I REALLY REALLY miss America...
  20. Rich's poem spoke to me...
  21. Everytime I see this stuff I pray some poor sap doesn't get fooled into spending their hard earned money on it. I love y'alls comments.. The ebay stuff had me chuckling.
  22. http://www.ebay.com/...=item20c3bb5fc3 I have seen some shady stuff, but this is one of the most sketch that I have come across in a while. this guy clames his molds are "100% screen accurate." His helmet especially sends red flags. It says it is a recast from a REAL stormtrooper helmet used from the film. ....? Thoughts?
  23. Thanks for the quick response guys. Info was exactly what I was looking for!
  24. As many of you probably don't know, living in Japan is a NIGHTMARE finding stuff for building armor! The nearest craft store is like 3K away from here, which doesn't seem like much, but with a country roughly the size of cali with about the population of the US, traffic here can make 3K feel like 30. Plus, once those places run out of stuff, those clowns take like a month to restock! So my question is what does everyone use for the elastic bands that hold the shoulder straps to the back? I feel like everyone has the same ones but it seems like it's not posted anywhere exactly what they are. Sometimes I feel like everyone just knows what to do and i'm sitting here scratching my head thinking "why can't I figure this out?" But good news! I know you guys have the answers! So what are they? where do people usually get them? And if this is a counselor's ship where is the ambassador? Thanks in advance for the wealth of knowledge!
