  1. I got my hyperfirm E-11 this week and it is a thing of beauty. It will be my main trooping blaster since it won't easily break. But for us sandtroopers wanting to go SWAT, we have to have a Bapty version E-11 and I haven't found one that is made state side and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
  2. You have a much steadier hand than I do. Looking good, just add the black stripes.... unless you want to be a sandy.
  3. 7 days? I let it sit overnight. It only goes longer than that if my wife has other plans for me and I can't get to it. My kitchen looks the same as your family room
  4. I think I have scars on the side of my neck and face from trying on my bucket in joy when I first built it. Just leave enough for you to mount the sheet of green plastic if that is the way you plan on doing it.
  5. Get a sharpie or something and mark them, then remove them from the bucket and cut them. You can cover it with a rounded nut or glue.
  6. Get more snaps than what you think you need. You may want a couple for practice
  7. You'll want nylon webbing and elastic in various sizes. Read just about any build tutorial and people list places to get stuff. I got my nylon and elastics from Joann's and walmart. For the snaps, tandy line 24 snaps.
  8. I'm 5'5" and I trimmed 2 inches off the top of my AM thighs. You shouldn't have had to trim any off and if so, not 2". Can you take a picture of them on you and with your ab piece on too if you have that area completed.
  9. Takes a strong man to take all that in with open arms. Good for you! Looking forward to seeing your progress.
  10. That's the plan for tonight. Going to redo my shoulder straps tonight so I can complete the strapping to the ab and chest plate.
  11. Abs paste. I also put spare strips of abs behind stress points on the kidney. Mine is pretty flimsy
  12. Trim the ear curves just a bit, they look they are still on the thick side. The disc part looks good IMO
  13. Gap is normal and is accurate. You may want to clean up around the vocodor and teeth some.
  14. People always say E6000 stinks, not that I huff the stuff, but I haven't noticed any bad smells nor has it made me woozy. Better to be safe than sorry I suppose.
  15. Contact the same contact you ordered your armor from.
  16. Well maybe it's best to leave it as is? I can add the wires but this will be my trooping blaster. I'll still have to pick up a Bapty E-11 if I want to go SWAT.
  17. I got AM2.0 thighs and shins and I'm about 80% done with them. Just need to size the thighs and close them up. Shins will need to be trimmed to fit my short legs. I also started my arm strapping system following ukswrath's AM build thread. I got my hyperfirm E-11 yesterday and it is a thing of beauty! There are a few seems that I'd like to try to eliminate. Has anyone done that before and what's the best method? I'd also like to drill out the sides of the front iron site to look more accurate.
  18. AM armor is so awesome, I wish I would have got their whole kit to start with. How did you go about sizing the rear of your thighs? I'm trying to avoid the church bell knee. I think I need to keep the bottom aligned size it has that built in ridge around the knee and then pull it in an angle towards the top. Then mark it and find the center point. Does this sound right?
  19. Instead of doing 2 firm passes, start with several light passes, followed up by a few firm ones. Will make a super crisp line if you're using a ruler as a guide obviously. I'll be following your build!
  20. Hey, Josh! If you don't have a shop vac you may want to get one. It's starting to get cold and when you start sanding you will want something to keep it from getting everywhere and probably don't want to do it outside in November/December.
  21. trooperbay.com had some not too long ago. If it's not on there, he doesn't have them in stock at the moment. I got my special flat sandtrooper hand guards from Karin last week and they are awesome! Worth the month long shipping from Austria to NY! I bought my chemical gloves from Home Depot for $5. Darman's neck seals are top notch as well and was cut, sew, and shipped super fast.
  22. Once you get SWAT approved, clear coat that sucker! lol Did you get any done this weekend? I'm almost done with my AM2.0 legs. Just gotta find the best way to taper fit the back of the thighs. I already took off 45mm from the inner thigh pieces like Tony's build he did a few months back.
  23. I wouldn't get too hung up on the fitment just yet. Wait until you have the whole arm complete and then decide if you need to make adjustments for better mobility.
  24. I trimmed and did the ANH notch that Gazmosis posted this past weekend. Tried to do the return edge and it was a pain in the butt plate! I would do about 1-2" at a time but I ended up getting a wicked ripple effect. Basically, I was heating it up and then bending it by hand (w/ gloves on). I started sanding it down smooth but I didn't even think about trying to even it out with ABS paste. Thanks for the tip!
