I know we don't do Vader but I had to share......
Dirt McGirt replied to DarthBrute's topic in eBay Armor
LOL I have had the misfortune of coming across this very same Vader helmet some time back. I'm guessing the seller is giving it another shot, though why I'll never know. One would have to be quite the Vader collector to want that. There is a market for darn near anything. It looks like it's made of hot tar. -
Yeah RT-Mod or AM are your best bets. Check out some of those build threads from Panda and tkrestonva for AM and Darth Aloha had a recent RT-Mod build. ------------

Hi Patrick, Welcome to the forums. First and foremost look at the links below to get started. Based on your height and build I would say that either AM or RT-Mod are going to be your best bets and a ton cheaper than SDS which tends to be frowned upon in these parts. For the reasons on that please just do a search on the forums for Ainsworth and draw your own conclusions on the man. I think that the SDS armor looks fine by me, though it is is expensive. That e-bay armor by the way is pretty bad and at least $2250 over what it should/could possibly go for. I just got my AM armor in the mail today and paid a fraction of that ridonkulous price lol. Anyhow, stick around and keep reading and you will ok. Everyone around here has a wealth of knowledge and are always here to help. And finally remember that the only dumb question is the one not asked. The various types of armor and where to find them ------- Which Armour is better for a bigger trooper? Read Here ... ------

Nomex Flight Gloves Black Dye Bleed
Dirt McGirt replied to Darth Aloha's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
Eric, I bought those very same gloves, from the very same guy on ebay. I haven't even worn them yet but I guess I know what I have to look forward to LOL. Perhaps I will try some of the dye setter stuff that Jenny pointed out. -
Darth Aloha's RT-MOD ANH Stunt Build[*RT]
Dirt McGirt replied to Darth Aloha's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
You look too awesome Eric. Congrats on the build. And might I say you are one massive Stormtrooper!!! -
LOL worlds different from the racing suit huh brother? I'm waiting on one in the mail as well. I like the idea of a once piece suit. Glad you're happy with it. Cheers.

This is nothing that a magic marker can't fix.

Yeah that should fit tighter my man. Think of those NFL players with the Under Armor shirts on. While us mere mortals may not look like those guys, it should fit us snugly regardless. I'm not sure what those racing suits are made of, but it looks like you could go down at least one size. I got these and the matching pants about a month ago when they had a buy one get one free special-----------

Took the words right out of my mouth.

Best suit/supplier for my build
Dirt McGirt replied to gordonkunz's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
All the wisdom that I have learned in my short time here says that either AM or RT-Mod armor would work best for the larger trooper. Start at the attached thread to read about the vetted armorers found here. Good luck. Getting Started section -

Belt Question - Likely Dumb
Dirt McGirt replied to James's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
That's not a bad idea at first glance Gazmosis, but would I be right to be slightly afraid that the weight of the holster, and blaster swinging while walking might weaken and crack the plastic over time? -
I will be watching closely as it's either RT-Mod or AM for me. Good luck and take copious amounts of pics.

Go take a look at the post by funkster in new member intros entitled "Hi from a newbie who bought the wrong armour". He got his from the very same guy on the companies website.

Original boots UK7.5 found!
Dirt McGirt replied to troopermaster's topic in Boots, Soft Parts, and other Accessories
With the spread of knowledge, no one loses. While I can appreciate the effort that went into finding the correct maker it's become more than silly to hide this info from your fellow man. Everyone will go on knowing that you made this archaeological find. Besides, what's the point of knowing something that no one else can verify? It's been borderline taunting. -

30+ years on and it doesn't look that bad, but it also doesn't look that great either. At any rate it is nice to be able to see the detail. Just wish the rest of it were there as well.
