Could try that or a while back I read something about using foam padding on the inside to help hold the armor against your calves. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to try the technique when my armor arrives for my forearms.
Have you checked the Costume Reference Library for the HWT? If you haven't here's the link http://www.501st.com...ostuming:TD_hwt. Also, i'm not sure how familiar you are with the EIB and Centurion requirements. Blue is EIB and red is Centurion. These are optional but are availbile to you if you want your costume to be more "screen accurate." Black is the "core requirements" to become 501st approved. Hope this helps.
So to surmise everything, find a drill bit to fit the rivet, put a wet rag on the opposite side of the rivet to ensure cooling, and drill it in reverse to pull it out?
Pretty shortly my new ears will be arriving so I decided to see how easy it would be to take off the existing ones. The two side screws on each ear came out fine but I ran into this problem. I started to feel very uneasy when I came to this so I figured I would hop on and see what you guys would recomend on how to remove this. It appears to be a rivet.
Minus the handle, the paint seems fine, just some flakes here and there. Good point about the handle. I'll just spray over it and see how it turns out. Thanks
My E-11 arrived this afternoon! Thanks Andrew. I had a question about repainting it. Do you guys think I should just sand the entire thing and repaint?
Paul, do you think that I would be able to get away with the helmet in it's current state for EIB TKC or should I continue to pursue acquiring some ear bumps. I have a set of four bumps on standby.
Yeah I e-mailed the address Mason sent me last night. I'm just concerned about the already raised portion of the ears. I don't want the ears to stick out way too far. I am thinking about probably sanding them down. Any comments/suggestions?
How would I go about adding on the new bumps? Should I try to shave down what is currently on the helmet and then add the bumps or would I be able to just put them on the existing space?
