  1. This will be interesting. In Nordic Garrison, we have a strict, no buckets off rule, wich I generally like, because you dont really see troopers take of their helmets. But I started a debate on our boards regarding the Legacy face characters and it seems like they dont accept it, without a helmet, as Jes Gistang and the other LTK's may be face characters, but they are still stormtroopers and should wear a helmet at all times. I would like to see the LTK's wear helmets, when "on duty" on parades and patrols, but otherwise, I think theese characters, especially Gistang, shouldnt wear a helmet, when in the Photostand or just hanging around, since that is how people know this character. But lets see what the future CRL will say about this. If the helmet becomes optional, there really isnt much they can do to stop people from trooping Gistang without it. Unless they want to go against the CRL.
  2. Do it, just for the fun of it. It may turn out okay. But for costuming/legion wise... What the others said
  3. Have you added a helmet in any of the submission pics?
  4. So far so good. The torso is comming along, but needs some tweaking to make it look right, where the pieces connects.
  5. All initial trimming is done now only adjustment trimming is left. The thigs have been assembled and the shins are comming along as well. I decided to use Gutter glue instead of E6000 or zap a gap, as I like to be able to make slight adjustments as I go along, and the gutter glue melts the pieces together, for a stronger bond. Although it requires a bit more drying time than zap'ing the parts together. Still faster than E6000 though
  6. Finally got to try some of the part out on the wife. Very good fit
  7. A little extra pic. Since it actually(despite the fact, that that Kev put up pictures of it) took me some time to figure out, how to trim the large side boxes, I thought I'd share how I trimmed them. And as an extra tip. When I build my own TK armor, TM gave me an advice, regarding attaching the end caps to the Thermal Det. at the back. Carefully heat up the end caps with a heatgun, before sticking the TD tube into them. This way, they will fit on real snug
  8. I had the same doubts as you, regarding the chest/back piece, but after looking at Kev's pics of "his girsl" wearing this, I decided that it is the intention that you should cut off the excess shoulder bits, after the indentions he made up there
  9. Kark me!!! What is the definition of insanity?? Doing the same thing over and over again... Here is a pile of belt boxes and belt box attachement thingies! This concludes my initial rough trimmings. Yay me!! Next up...sanding all the parts I just trimmed...
  10. Well, I believe the sky trooper was done without an official CRL and the first Sky trooper became, more or less, the standard for its new CRL. So yes. In theory armor that do not have a CRL, can be approved, if there is sufficient material to prove it belongs in the SW universe. Exactly how new armor is approved on Legion level, I am not entirely sure. Just that it can be done.
  11. I cant decide if I should go with those shoes, or get some more "accurate" ones. I really like the fem thing in this, but I do tend to lean against the elitist way of building armor. But hey. Maybe I should get two pair of boots. One feminie pair and one correct pair As long as it looks good, right
  12. Will take as many pics along the way, as I can
  13. Ahh. So if I understand this correctly, I should cut the red line I marked and glue the shim on the inside of the Shin? ---------- Somehow I thought that shim belonged on the outside of the shin, but yeah. This makes sence Thanks Kev
  14. Initial trimmin well underway, but have to stop for tonight, since my deaer wife deamnds that I come to the town and drink beer with her... Well okay then So far only the belt is in need of trimming
  15. I have a question too. I'm in the middle of the initial rough trimming, and I'm unsure about the shins. I have identified something that look like it should be trimmed off, but as I said, I'm not sure. I have marked the lines I have doubt about, with a pencil. Front to the left(found two potential cut lines) and back to the right right. ----------
  16. My femtrooper kit arrived today, and only two weeks early!! Kev sure works fast The mandatory picture, parts on the floor! And ofcourse, I had to do comparisons to my TM. This armor is so tiny and...yeah, cute But, I have a bad feeling about this!! Not sure how much I will get done right away, since the wife and I are heading to Edinbourgh on Monday. If I'm lucky I might get some trimming of the chest done, just so she can try it on for size Time will tell...
  17. The few times I troop without my speaker setup, I normally dont talk to the public, unless they ask me questions, that demand a better answer, than a nod or shake of the head, but the times I have talked without my setup, no one have commented on the muffled sound of my voice under the bucket. Actually, my speaker setup is more to satisfy the geek in me, than satisfying the public
  18. I imagine its the same shirt that Kev have posted on his Facebook page Clones are cooler on the front and "something sexier" on the back...
  19. Also depends on your local gun laws. Some places even a replica gun is considered a violation. So local laws apply as well as any event specific rules.
