  1. +1. Noticed as well. Coming off the drop ship. I was think about the poor guy that already dead before the camera even has a chance to pan over to follow the action. Buckets off for our fallen comrade.
  2. AMAZING! I am without words other than that! Just wow!
  3. As someone who has worked as cam op on pawnstars, it's definitely scripted. Well not line reading scripted. But, a story producer helps write the plot with definite beats to hit. Then in production we make sure we get the story beats we need. Also, if it's similar to pawnstars, which I would suspect it is because the format is essentially the same, sometimes the sales aren't real. It real depends. It's cast though. So sometimes people just want to come in and pretend to sell something that makes a cool main story. It follows a format of one main story that can span the length of the episode and two side stories to break the main story up. Still a fun show and I watch it regularly. 4. Having the shins open in the back is canon... Just sayin' If you want, you could do a strip assembly in the front, which might give you some extra room Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. The AP sniper plate is a beast to align properly. It took me a lot of sanding/fitting to get close. Then I had a few passes with the heatgun and very carefully bending to get it as good as AP armor will allow. Just try to make the lines of the sniper plate match and be flush with the lines of the shin ridge. Visually it should flow together. Work very slowly... Sand a little, test fit, sand a little more, test fit, etc... with the heat gun, very slow and steady. Otherwise, great build!
  6. Ah... That's why you're the DO. Congrats on the Centurion, Nick!
  7. Did I just miss it, but I'm not seeing two snaps in the butt plate connecting the crotch. But, let me just add... man, the inside of your bucket looks AWESOME! I really want to copy that for my bucket... mine doesn't look nearly as good on the inside.
  8. I just sewed the elastic loop and put them over the straps. Holds there just fine.
  9. Everything looks good to me, the biggest thing I would say is that there needs to be shim on the right side of the ab/kidney plate. I also worry about armor pinch for you in the back of the knees? I know I had to put notches there just so I could walk. :-p I think you did an excellent job on your paint job of your helmet, BTW.
  10. Thank you for your speed. Already hung over my workbench
  11. David S. White 8453 Centurion Letter Thank you!
  12. Thank you all! I really appreciate it. I feel very proud to be a member of the 501st and THRILLED to be represent such a wonderful organization as a Centurion! I think I'm going to try to pay it forward and apply to be an attache for my garrison. Now I just need to find a red clown nose that fits my TK bucket The strapping is adjusted, it's all velcro system on the arms, so I just have to remember to put it back in the right marks if it ever gets unvelcroed. Again, thank you all so much! I hope I get a change to troop with all of you one day!
  13. Sorry I look so tired. I didn't bother putting on the whole suit.... just enough to show the biceps hanging down more.
  14. It's my serious face, hehe. I usually carry it with me everywhere and randomly put it on. Gets some great looks while driving in traffic!
  15. Not much of a problem at all, they're on velcro elastic strapping from the shoulder bells. I've taken the liberty of moving them down about a 1/2" to 1" for this picture, but I won't be able to take a picture of me wearing them until late this evening. Thanks!
  16. Gladly! Front Back Left Side Right Side Bucket Off (since everyone liked the hat so much - I can feel comfortable revealing my real nose) Thank you.
  17. Whew. So, I've taken some time to fix the issues that have been raised. And sorry about the delay, this would have been faster but I show to work on... "Dave M" decals on the helmet now Cover strip assembly on all forearms and biceps Took away more of the return edge of front forearms Trimmed biceps circumference by 1/2" Cut off other half of holster strap so there is no loop, just single strap Made sniper plate more flush with left shin Thank you for your time. Front Left Side Back Right Side Helmet - Detail Forearms Biceps Holster Sniper Plate - Left Side Sniper Plate - Right Side
  18. Not a problem. Can I ask, is there anything else besides these two points that I need to work on?
  19. Already ordered from trooperbay. This is merely a stopgap... and I do think it looks better. And yes, they're AP decals.
  20. It's held down with elastic. I don't specifically see what you mention, but perhaps I need to take a heat gun to them again for a little more bend. The D-ring was in my EIB application... Sorry about the oversight...
  21. Damn. I'm utterly embarrassed. I fixed the forearms. I just always did it that way, but that's no excuse. I apologize for the oversight. Just show that they are indeed now glued. Now to just clean up some e6000. As for the helmet. The CRL says that I can use decals that emulate hand painted... a thought occurred to me that perhaps I could paint decals. So, I submit to the community: The lines themselves, I just painted over with a very fine brush freehand. The outlines, I used tape to protect from my shaky hands. A wider view of the process New front view New left side view New back view New right side view Thank you again!

  23. David S. White 8453 EIB LETTER Thank you... I hope the middle initial is okay?
  24. Wow! Thank you ALL! I'm really excited now... 2nd member of my garrison to get EIB. It's crazy how you don't notice so many little things until you start taking pictures of the details and having a whole group weigh in on it. It's a great system. I've trooped in this armor since I first became part of the 501st in August, so by now, I think I'm blind to some of the details. Thank you all again. I've already done some additional trimming to the biceps (which I truly never noticed til I looked at the pictures). I'm going to get a better system for my sniper plate and fix my butt snap... then apply for centurion. I can be the first in my garrison for that Cheers!
