I just started my ATA kit and working on the forearms I ran into this as well. If I leave it at 15mm for the cover strip it's still going to be a little big. My plan is to go down to maybe 14mm or 13mm max so that there won't be too much of a difference. Then i'll just have a cover strip on my arms that are a few mm smaller. That way if I happen to be standing next to another trooper with the 15mm cover strip there won't be too much of a difference.

I've been trying to PM troopermaster for a couple of days now. When I hit the send it turns gray and nothing happens. Any advice?

I hear you. I remember trying to paint model cars. If I attempted to do that to my helmet I would probably have a panic attack. I'll be using decals.

I was there too not that long ago, I wanted a kit that would just show up that I could slap on instantly be a Stormtrooper. Then after lots of reading here and lurking on build tutorials I realized that while it may look daunting at first once you get ethe armor and make the first few cuts everything seems to start to flow. Just ask questions if you are unsure and always supply pictures when asking. So far I'm not doing too badly just by using the build tutorials and the search button. Love that search button. Also the pride when your done. I'm in the test fitting of my ATA armor right now. So exciting. Just don't get overwhelmed.

I was looking for pictures like this a few days ago. They look really good. I'm just into trimming my ATA kit. Will be nice to compare to what you have done. Personally I left a little more of a return edge on mine because I'm a skinny bugger and will probably have to use some foam inside my arms so I don't look like an anorexic trooper. Yours looks awesome though.

I just got my ATA kit a few days ago. Absolutely love it. Do have to buy the decals for the helmet but they aren't too much. Really happy with the product. Plus the costumer service was great. That's to be expected as ATA is one of the approved vendors.

Snaps for the armor to connect everything together. Mostly for the chest and mid sections, however you'll end up using them to keep the thighs up and the shoulder bells on as well. You'll see. Just look at a few build threads.

I hear you about the excitement. My ATA kit should be done any day now. Then I just have to wait for the time it takes to ship. In the meantime I did a hasbro conversion and started getting my snap inventory up. And lots of forum stalking of course.

So, with our nasty gun laws what are the regulations for carrying a replica "blaster" that has never been a real firearm? I know a while back it was damn near impossible to get even airsoft rifles shipped past our border, but I thought that the laws had relaxed a little, seeing as I have seen very realistic airsoft rifles come through lately. Advice?

Ooh, nice one! I'm lucky as I am forced to work out about 5 times a week. Go Canadian Forces! I PM'd the contact for TM, will be patient as I understand he's a busy guy. Will give him a week and then bug him some more. I am led to understand that the TM armor is a little more money, but worth it. I'll just have to see how much I can scrounge away for the next year.

Thanks for all the info, gives me more of an idea what to start hunting for once the funds start to get to a level where it is possible. Probably going to end up going for a TM or an AP. Just glad that I decided to ask the experts before I jumped into the first build. Thanks again! Any more info that people want to add or comments feel free to post some more. I am in a believer that any info is good.

Anyone out there my size have AM armor? Again measurements are 34 waist, 36 chest, 5 foot 11 inches and 155 pounds.

Would like to stick with ABS as paint and I have bad history. Trimmed would be good too however untrimmed wouldn't be the end of the world either. Leaning towards AP as of this morning.

Good evening all, I am 5 foot 11 inches tall and weigh 155 pounds. I am curious what other people out there around my size use for armor. I have an RT-MOD helmet and will probably end up getting the armor from RT-MOD as well. Figured I'd ask the experts. Going to be a while before I can make the plunge as I have to save up for a while so I have lots of time for lots of research. Any and all feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!
