  1. I have both the M-40 and M38 and indeed the difference is quite small. As for collecting weapons or props, personally I collect props. I know this is a weapon, and I do respect what it is/was, but if it hadn't been used in SW I wouldn't have cared to have it in my collection. Simple as that. I could also say that being a prop may have saved it from being melted as scrap metal. I guess I will never know if my gun killed/injured someone, and to be honest I really don't want to know. Thus I think that I gave this Sterling a better life in my hands (as a very prized prop) than it was really meant for (killing people).
  2. My Sterling blaster also has some texture on it, not as pronounced but it is there. It is not shiny and smooth. I sprayed it with a bit of silicone to clean it up but when that evaporates (about 1 month) it will be again flat paint. But from what i recall there are two types of paint applied to real Sterlings: one with texture and one without too much.
  3. Totally agree! An Electronic blaster would be also very cool
  4. The blaster looks great!! Maybe you have some biger photos!
  5. Full old spec is not allowed in my country, I asked long ago and many times. Not even like yours where you can see the opening for the ejector. Half of my bolt is locked in place, and the other half works with the spring when pulling the cocking handle, and the selector switch and trigger both move. The new specs above are really bare, but this is how the MR version looks too. BTW doesn anyone know of M-40 being used on SW blasters?
  6. Is there a clear shot of blasters using M-40 scopes? Also are these Sterlings new spec? Do they have any moving parts? ------- This one is Canadian and was sold last year on RPF IIRC: ---------
  7. M-38 (and M-40) here too: ---------
  8. I wouls also recommend Shadows of the Empire, it can bring you some cool info between ESB and ROTJ. I have read both the comic and the SOTE book and both are very cool, but story is a bit different.
  9. Yeah! I realized it after I posted, but since it is Sunday, you know... Personally I prefer the M-38/M-40 to an M-19 any day of the week. BTW is there a clear shot of blasters using M-40 scopes?
  10. BTW is this Stormie carrying an E-11 with a M-40? --------
  11. They are among the best Expanded Universe books.
  12. Could there be a difference between UK and German spec? So will the old spec dry fire? My trigger works, the firing selector switch works, I have moving cocking handle with spring, and an original, but closed/welded breech block (not just a piece of metal in there)
  13. Very cool! Waiting to see more progress pics!
  14. I thought the old spec is the one blank firing. And new spec is the one having some moving parts like trigger, firing selector switch, moving cocking handle, and original but closed/welded breech block. But I've seen indeed some Sterlings with no cocking handle at all, or even if having it, there was no spring, but a big metal lump welded there, no moving trigger and no moving selector switch. Are there more than the 2 types of deactivation specs?
  15. Very nice indeed. The Santrooper one looks like it was taken directly from Tatooine
  16. We all know LFL owns everything regarding SW, and still here there are the 501st with their fan made armors and helmets. And there are many people involved in finding the most accurate parts for all the SW props. But you were the one making those particular templates. It's not like no one else will be allowed to make cylinders from now on.
  17. I really enjoyed Thrawn Trilogy by Zahn.
  18. Personally I prefer the blaster without the wires, looks more sci-fi than with those old-telephone like wires
