  1. Thank you so much for your kind words Tino. It really means a lot to get that kind of feedback from someone with your experience!I started the build with the intention of just getting it done to an acceptable standard. But, the more I went along, the more I wanted to push myself. Your thread has been priceless in my build, and I would not have been able to complete it without that precious pdf. Little things like where to level the counter, and the detailed information within it is nothing more than awesome. Thanks again T! Marc
  2. And here ( fingers crossed ) is the completed blaster. I still have the original scope on as I have not had the time to build the one I have of Brian's which is a number 5 scope, and a very well produced kit. Marc
  3. Cylinders have been completed. Which, I think is the last part of the build, unless anyone thinks I've missed something. Marc
  4. Ok, so now I'm onto the power cells on the mag. I'm almost done building them. But, does anyone know what diameter the small resistors at the back are? 5mm? Not the three in between the cells the ones that have the waxed wire. Regards Marc
  5. Mine are pretty much in the same position ( if not closer to the mic ) and there's no issue with them coming through the Aker. Marc
  6. There are far better kits which, when including the price of the lid would be cheaper. Don't get me wrong, I loved building my FX kit, in fact, my son is trooping in it at a local school tomorrow to raise awareness of extreme reading, also (excluding the lid) it is clearable Regards Marc
  7. As far as I'm aware, there should be some return at the top. But, I know some do like to have a minimal one. Again, it's not a big deal as the cover strip will mask this anyway. Marc
  8. I don't think this is uncommon. The cover strip will hide this. Marc
  9. Fair point mate. Prefer the clam shell method myself as I've been the same weight and build for the last thirty years. Marc
  10. That's a good method mate. But, I don't get why anyone would need / want both sides to be functional. Marc
  11. You can never have enough magnets! As for the glue, it's easier to pick off when there's a lot rather than a little [emoji6] Looking good mate [emoji106] Marc
  12. This [emoji6] Marc

  17. Hello there! I'm currently in the middle of my resin Doopy's build but I'm not happy with the cylinders they supply. I have decided that I want to scratch build a set. Now, I don't want to go off the Doopy's cylinders for dimensions as I don't think they are correct. I've also seen various threads on scratch builds, along with Andys very informative analysis and history. But, I can't for the life of me find any specific measurements for the cylinders. If anyone can help me, I would really appreciate it! Regards Marc
  18. A quick update tonight. I managed to get the paint on today. Once dry, and a little touching up of the metal by dry brushing.I wanted to give the blaster an aged look, so I went over the complete blaster with some water based burnt umber acrylic paint. This was then "sponged" and any excess removed with a damp cloth. It's browner than in the photos, and I think it works quite well. Tomorrow will be onto the t-tracks and another coat of humbrol 53 on the bolt, which will hopefully buff up quite well. As always, any feedback is much appreciated Marc My Wips... http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=61082 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/38021-CTID's-RWA-ANH-Stunt-WIP......-501st-Here-we-go! http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=60937 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/38731-CTID's-Doopy's-E-11-Build
  19. Thank you Tino for the kind words. good to know I'm on the right track Decided to go for a hollow scope from Brian. Will update when it arrives Marc My Wips... http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=61082 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/38021-CTID's-RWA-ANH-Stunt-WIP......-501st-Here-we-go! http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=60937 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/38731-CTID's-Doopy's-E-11-Build
  20. Nothing specific. I went for 15mm in width. Looking good bro! Marc
  21. Cheers mate, Looks great. I like the plasdip. Did something similar myself ... TK build on hold for the time being as I need to get my e-11 build done in order to get cleared by my Garrison. It's taking longer than my armour build. But, if you're gonna build one, best do it right, right? Marc
  22. A couple of bits done.. I decided to strip down the black paint on the main body as I wasn't happy with the first coat. Flat black applied to all holes in order to compliment the final coat First off was to drill out and make room for the extractor and plunger One extractor made from 2mm abs and a 3 or 4mm (can't remember! ) tube. Next was the completion of the counter. Flat black on the front, satin to the rear. Next was to create the illusion of a thinner casing on the reciever. This was achieved by applying some matt black on the inside around 1.5-2mm from the top of the resin. End cap completed Then onto the nut that houses the handle bolt. It's had the washer painted gloss black, but its masked off at the moment so no pic yet. Thoughts? 23. Thanks for the kind words!I'm hoping to have the blastet finished by the end of the week. Marc My Wips... http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=61082 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/38021-CTID's-RWA-ANH-Stunt-WIP......-501st-Here-we-go! http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=60937 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/38731-CTID's-Doopy's-E-11-Build
  24. Thanks for the kind words sir!The two main issues with making the stock is that I needed to have 2 stocks as ones 5he donor for the handle, and the other is the donor for the stock. The second was not so much the mechanism inside the extension tube, but getting the lever to make enough contact to trigger it. If I can work out how to make a mold I may offer up a kit or two.
