  1. Looking great! Like the lid internals and the lense instillation [emoji2] Marc My Wips... http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=61082 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/38021-CTID's-RWA-ANH-Stunt-WIP......-501st-Here-we-go! http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=60937 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/38731-CTID's-Doopy's-E-11-Build
  2. My biggest challenge is going to be factoring the handle hinge with integrated stock release. I'm thinking of using epoxy putty. Either that or sculpt it from some spare chunks of resin that I have. I see more sanding ahead! Marc
  3. Looking good, am following. I'm also in the middle of a doopy build. Marc My Wips... http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=61082 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/38021-CTID's-RWA-ANH-Stunt-WIP......-501st-Here-we-go! http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=60937 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/38731-CTID's-Doopy's-E-11-Build
  4. A little more progress today. The handle has been hollowed out and filler applied, which I will clean up tomorrow. I also drilled out the muzzle ready for the hex bolts, but got carried away so had to apply some filler Mag being prepped for fitting And there is now a functional (and working ) catch on the stock Tommorrow will be spent sanding and then I attempt the final part of the working folding stock [emoji16] Marc My Wips... http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=61082 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/38021-CTID's-RWA-ANH-Stunt-WIP......-501st-Here-we-go! http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=60937 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/38731-CTID's-Doopy's-E-11-Build
  5. Looking good brother[emoji2] I have my fans here.. Still can't hear though! Marc
  6. So the last couple of days have been working on the folding stock. I'm pretty confident that I can make it functional ( but time will tell!) First off was the folding stock pivot. I sanded down the resin cast rivets. I could not fin anything with the correct sized head. So I decided to factor them myself. The rivets had the same size head as some drawing pins, so these would be my template. I got to work with some epoxy putty, ca glue, sompe plastic tubing, and the said pins. Ok, so now we have the pivot that now moves. Im happy so far, as the rear of the stock clips nicely into the correct place on the end cap. Next up was the extension rod, which would also house the mechanism for the catch. I ripped apart a fair few pens and constructed a working catch. Which means that as soon as you fold the handle down the internal mechanism will release the catch and unlock the stock form the main body. Some shots of where I'm upto. Next job will be to carve out the front end of the handle and build the lever mechanism. 7. Thank you so much. Initially I was just going to build it "as is" but the more I've progressed, the more I wanted to test how accurate I could get it. I've had to put my armour build on hold whilst I focus on this. Marc My Wips... http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=61082 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/38021-CTID's-RWA-ANH-Stunt-WIP......-501st-Here-we-go! http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=60937 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/38731-CTID's-Doopy's-E-11-Build
  8. I forgot to post a pic of the coat of brass that I put down before the thin layer of black in order to get the wear and tear! Here it is. Marc My Wips... http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=61082 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/38021-CTID's-RWA-ANH-Stunt-WIP......-501st-Here-we-go! http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=60937 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/38731-CTID's-Doopy's-E-11-Build
  9. I totally agree with this method! Marc My Wips... http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=61082 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/38021-CTID's-RWA-ANH-Stunt-WIP......-501st-Here-we-go! http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=60937 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/38731-CTID's-Doopy's-E-11-Build
  10. Today my LED's arrived so I can now continue with the mag, which I'll come back to. First up though, was the moving trigger assembly usimg a pen spring and a small pin Next up was the first stage of weathering the scope. I wanted differing effects of weathering, such as chips, scrapes, and an effect of the black wearing off. The first stage would be for the wear to the black paint. After the first coat of black, I dry brushed some brass onto areas that Iwanted the black to be worn, then put down a really thin layer of black. I'm happy with this first stage although I don't think the photos do it justice. Next up will be more dry brushing and detailing. Then it will be a brown acrylic wash over the top. Next up was 4he mag and housing. First was to place in the magnets as I wanted to be able to remove the mag for reasons such as transportation. Both the mag and the housing were then filled And then sanded down Next up was filling the blemishes and tidying up. Then it was onto the button, I wanted to be able to press this in. So I made a post and fitted it into the mag. The LED was attached to a pen spring which would then be trimmed down when installing. LED fitted All prepped for test assembly Comparison shots of my custom mag and the doopy mag I'm really happy how it's turned out, all that chopping sanding and filling was worth the effort! 11. Thanks Tino. If someone with your skills is saying I'm on the right track, then I must be! [emoji2] I'm considering making the stock functional,. Not for any reason, other than to see if I can. The only problem I'm having is purely aesthetic. By this I mean, I can't find any detailed shots of how the front of the folding stock should look [emoji22] Marc My Wips... http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=61082 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/38021-CTID's-RWA-ANH-Stunt-WIP......-501st-Here-we-go! http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=60937 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/38731-CTID's-Doopy's-E-11-Build
  12. Made a little progress over the last couple of days. First off was to continue to hollow out the stock. It still needs some filler sanding down, but I will move on until I see more reference shots of the front end. The scope has now been primed and is ready for the brass undercoat to go on. I'm really happy that the seems after chopping it up can't be seen. Spring fitted to allow for a moving trigger. Next part of the build is the counter. I don't like the rear of the doopy counter so I intend on making improvements. I ordered a 50mm x50mm x4mm square of perspex. Sanded it down to create a curve using coarse paper, then move onto 600, 1500 and then 2500 grit. Polished it up with a nain buffer. I will then fit this to the hollowed out counter once my 6 digit totalizing counter arrives. I'm also considering replacing these parts from a doner counter that I have Next was to look at the mag. I dont like the doopy mag, and think it lacks detail. So it was time to bin it and get creative. I had two other mags, however, the cleaner cast mag was missing the upside down off, along with the clip detail. The poorer cast luckily had both these details and looked ok, but the rest of it was a mess. Time to cannibalise them! The cleaner mag was cast along with the mag housing, so I made a cut through the housing about 5mm in from the mag. I then sanded the remaining housing that was still on the end of the mag. I gave it a taper, and the fit into the doopy housing is good. I then sanded the front recess to give the sides a little more depth. I then completely removed the part with the missing "off". It was then onto removing the plate with the upside down "off" from the other mag. Again, I cut through the mag a couple of mm away from the end plate. Yes, it was time to sand some more. Once I was happy with the end plate, I moved on to the clip. More cuttting and sanding into the doner mag. Heres how the mag that doopy provide looks Heres the new cannibalised mag compared the doopy mag. Its only a dry fit at the moment as I have yet to do some fine sanding before assembly. I think the work involved was worth it. Thoughs? 13. I'm thinking that considering I've hollowed out the stock, i could potentially make it a functional one. Not necessarily for the purpose of extending the stock, but if it functional then it will look better. We will see. ..... 16. Just measure to fit. It is all about how it fits the individual. Everyone will have different measurements [emoji6] Marc My Wips... http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=61082 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/38021-CTID's-RWA-ANH-Stunt-WIP......-501st-Here-we-go! http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=60937 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/38731-CTID's-Doopy's-E-11-Build

  19. Today so far has been spent drilling out the folding stock. I had a spare, so decided to go all out and hollow out the front end clip that becomes the shoulder rest. I wanted more detail than just filing into the two holes on either side, than just filing into them along with it looking more realistic as there are two pieces and not just one lump of resin. I removed the resin from the same part of the hollowed out stock, and filed down. <br />There's still some further sanding to go, but I'll wait until I've applied primer as it will highlight the lumps and holes better.<br /><br /><br />Marc
  20. Looking good mate. Marc My Wips... http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=61082 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/38021-CTID's-RWA-ANH-Stunt-WIP......-501st-Here-we-go! http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=60937 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/38731-CTID's-Doopy's-E-11-Build
  21. Does anyone know what the dimensions are of the mag LED. Is it 5mm?
  22. No worries, let me know how it pans out mate [emoji3] Marc My Wips... http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=61082 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/38021-CTID's-RWA-ANH-Stunt-WIP......-501st-Here-we-go! http://www.ukgarrison.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=60937 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?/topic/38731-CTID's-Doopy's-E-11-Build
  23. heart breaking RLH2515 I feel your pain mate. I had an issue on my lid too. Initially I screwed the first ear on the wrong side. Like yours, my issue was with the bottom screw. I was gutted.I had no alternative but to make some paste. I'd never done that before and I was so angry with myself. I thought that I may as well grab the bull by the horns. I drilled a whole in some scrap and the filled it with paste. There was no way I was doing it on my lid with no experience of how it works and what to sand it down with. I found that for me sanding it down and buffing it up with a nail polishing block have me the best result. So I went ahead after several practice attempts and I'm happy with the result. You can only really see the repair if you know it's there. Here's the block I used. You can pick them up for pennies on ebay Marc
