  1. Armor should be here within days!!! I have a question for the Vets; is a Pauldron acceptable for EIB status? If so what color? Thanx for the help!
  2. Thanx everyone! I put the last coat on and will wait overnight to see how it looks. I will post pics When I can get my hands on a camera.
  3. I used Krylon, I might have forgotten to mention that! Good luck! Check out my latest post, hope it helps. From one newbie to another!!
  4. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!! Anyway, this is how I have done my build to date. First removed the muzzle & scope end caps. Disassembled the the body & removed the electrix. Since I am going for EIB I ground off the left lower T track & drilled new holes in it's place. I added two T tracks using the "fingers" from a plastic rake. I got that for 50% off at home depot because it was already broken!! When sanding a used a very coarse grain if I needed to remove a lot and finished with a 320 grit. Use a Dremel, trust me!!! I started with a coat of primer, followed by a coat of silver metallic, and then a few coats of gloss black. I filled the screw hole w/ an epoxy and let it sit for a few hours, then ground off the excess. Next, I attached the Doopy Do's kit, and that's where I am now. I plan on painting it flat black to finish. Sorry about the pic quality, but my camera crapped out and all of my funds are going to my TK build!! Enjoy the picks! I will post the finished pic when I can. I appreciate any feedback!!!
  5. My RT-Mod kit should be here within the week, I will let you know. I am 6'00' 250, so if it fits me you should be in good shape!
  6. Thanx everyone! This is my first step in building my TK. I appreciate the help. Any preference on glue?
  7. I received the Doopy Do's kit today, the blaster should be here any day. I noticed there aren't any instructions? Anyone have any good ideas on how to proceed? PandaTrooper's thread was very helpful, I just don't want to miss anything. Thanx for your help.
  8. I am just as new and nervous about this as you are! Stormtroopercostume.com is the first place I looked. After a lot of discussions with members of this site, they said that site was bad news and not 501st compliant. I am currently waiting on my order to ship from RT-Mod.com. You want to look into that kit. I know it comes with instructions and the bucket is fully assembled! Well I hope this may help. Good Luck!
  9. Thank you! Any info or pointers for building this kit?
  10. I'm in the same boat as you guys! My RT kit is on the way as I type! I also just ordered the hasbro blaster & the DoopyDoos kit. I am very interested to swap ideas/info if you are. I have ordered E6000 for the build plus some rare Earth magnets to use in conjunction w/ clamps. If you're considering the RT Mod kit, I highly recommend it! Rob is a stand up guy! Hope to talk soon.
  11. I wasn't referring to a voice changer. but now I am!!!! Thanx for the site!!
  12. Just thought I would share my experience to date. After a lot researching thru this site, others, and conversations with my local Garrison members I decided to go w/ Rob's kit. I have not received the armor yet, but what I can say is his incredible communications. I sent him an email almost every other day asking questions and he always promptly answered them. He was never too busy. After reading this topic I am even more excited! I will post more when the armor arrives. Thanx Rob! Alex (My Bday present from my wife)
  13. I just thought I would let everyone know about the deal I found on a Hasbro Blaster. I checked every web site from Ebay to Target to Toys R Us. I paid a total of $18.19, which includes tax, for a brand new blaster to be shipped to my local WalMart. So for anyone who is a newbie, like me, or just needing something new, check out Wal Mart. CHEAP!!!
  14. Amror is on order, went to my first troop & D*Con!

  15. Anyone know how or where I can find a comlink to buy?
  16. I joined them before here. The handler is a great idea. Thank you.
  17. The build does worry me, but I think I can do it. The scary thing is that if I screw something up, I can't run to the store for a new part. The other issue is that I haven't met anyone yet. I was hoping for this Sat but I think that may not be possible. It looks like Dragoncon will be my first opportunity. What garrison are you with? Whats life like for someone starting off? Is this normal so far?
  18. Thank you. You've helped me alot so far, could I bother you with another question? I have a choice between a RT-Mod kit or a completed/painted 501st clone trooper kit. Which one? like the idea of being able to start asap, but at the same time I like the idea of something of my own. Mind giving an opinion?
  19. I went to Hobby Lobby looking for the snap tool and jean rivets. Unfortunately, there wasn't much to choose from. Any advice on where to shop?
  20. Does anyone have any info if the 501st or the FISD will be meeting up?
  21. I wasn't able to attend CV. So this is my first DragonCon, can't wait!
  22. Great info! I am planning on ordering my armor this week! If anyone talks to RT-Mod let him know Im ready to go!
