I have one of those yes. I haven't played around much with it. If you spend some time reading the page I linked you will find the FAQ -
Creating basic sound system for blaster
Locitus replied to TheKido's topic in Electronics for Helmets / Blasters
You might be able to use one of these for the sound. But for lights you're bound to run into more complicated solutions if you want more than just a simple flash. --------- -
Nice workI I like the beaten up look.

It looks like you're using pop rivets to hold your thigh ammo belt on though, and those will affect centurion status. -
You have the right ear on the left side of the helmet. Move it.

Looks like you have it on thw wrong side of the helmet. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Poor trimming on the ears Bad paintjob Too large tubestripes Poor decals in tears and traps Decals don't fit intended areas Wrong kind of hovi tips Too small brow trim Lenses appear to be "air tight" around the eyes (some like that, but it leads to less ventilation and moist on the lenses) Need I go on?

You don't need to take your own screen captures. We have pretty much all you need on the site already, and a lot of other reference photos too. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/gallery/ -

I assume you mean this holster? Don't do that. It's a wardrobe mistake, not to be replicated unless you are making a prop rather than a costume. Fun fact however is that is the belt/holster owned by RS. -
Aw I imagined more would want one. It's really neat Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Not sure you quoted me correctly but yes, that is mentioned, but not the distance from face so to speak, which is what I thought you referred to. But this is a prime example of where measurements are bad. When things like this is mentioned without supplementing data there is no rule broken if someone would make really thick or really thin stripes and just space them out to fill the distance. It would be by the book, but still be wrong. Telling someone to look at an original helmet and replicate what he/she sees there is far more reliable. That's how the pro's do it. Don't just give people fish, it's better to teach them how to fish. -

Which helmet were you looking at when you did them? There's also no mention of the width of the stripes in the CRL, so I don't know what problem you had. -

Don't worry Darren, our little discussion wasn't aimed at you personally. It just happened to take place in your thread. Use screen shots and archive pictures whenever possible to make sure you do it right and not rely on the hope that someone else made the right decision when they built their suit. -

Indeed. I do wish that those in the process of helping others, either give accurate information, or cite at least their source. That would be great in order to avoid hearsay. But that is probably a pipe dream. -

The problem with CRL's and similar systems elsewhere is that once you give people any kind of checklist, critical thinking goes out the window. Yes, the CRL is supposed to be the be-all, end-all for a 501st stormtrooper. But that doesn't make it the be-all, end-all for a screen accurate stormtrooper. There is still a huge difference. But we are getting better. Unfortunately not as fast as I would like. But I'm not ruler of the world, so I can only wish and nag at people to do their research and not rely on hearsay or "how others did it" if they try to be accurate. If they are not trying to be accurate, then it doesn't matter what anything says, really. -

Because it's in the CRL. I wrote that. I didn't want it in there, because I don't like giving hard numbers to arbitrary measurements, but I was told to put something in, so I picked 1/8th. But no one should follow that, they should look at pictures and make it up for themselves. Unfortunately I couldn't write that. -

Thanks for necro-posting a 6 year old thread. Here's a hint about good forum manners. Don't do that.

Either way, you got what you paid for. Now try to get it back so we can help you. Buying props like these is like a black market, and while we all want it to go smoothly and not have people screwed over, there really isn't many rules or fine print.

Reselling a piece of electronics that is mass produced is a lot easier enabling someone give refunds on, than a helmet that is to be considered "custom made". You can't really get refunds for a tailored suit either for the very same reason. Get your helmet back, post some pictures and we'll work together to see what your issues are and what to do about them. In the meantime I suggest you keep reading so that you'll learn what you are getting yourself into.

Just work with him. There are some things you can do even with a finished helmet to make it fit. Butit will always be tight between your nose and the helmet. That's normal. The neck opening can be opened up a little, and the face plate can be angled differently to make more room. Worst case scenario you get a nice looking display helmet.

Scootch is a really good guy. If you get the helmet back you should post some pictures of your problems and we can help you fix them. There is no reason your head should not fit. Remember that you have to put it on sideways and then twist it back into position. It's not a symmetrical helmet just like the originals are not, because they were hand sculpted and what scootch sold you has origins back to the originals.

Now THAT is looking good!
