You also dont want to hold the can so far away that it begins to dry before it hits the helmet. That will cause a grainy finish. A good paint job is one step away from a run. I paint within 6 inches and I make thick coats.
I hear most folk use money clips from Staples Office Supplies. I just used thin steel sheeting that I cut and shaped and then rivited it to the O2 tank. I also threw in some industrial velcro to make sure the canister stays put.
Ok I got my wireless kits yesterday and installed the recievers and vox unit in the chest plate. Today I started in helmet testing with the mics and transmitters. It works perfectly and far as connectivity goes. But the mic that came with it has a very low sensitivity. So it doesnt pick up my voice 100% its choppy. I'm gonna try a powered mic and see if that helps any.
My wireless kits came in today and I installed one with my Wal-Mart Voice changer in the chest plate. I'll get pics up as soon as I can. I need to install the mics and transmitters in my helmets still. I've already tested one unit out and it works like a charm. The transmitters are on the same frequency so all I have to do is swap helmets. Then I coiled up the antenna on the reciever and only have a range of about 5 ft away so that means less possibility of the reciever picking up something its not supposed to. I'll get it mounted in the helmets tomorrow.
I think I'm gonna call it "Wally Wi-Fi"
