This all started back in September of 2007 when I first started researching a TK costume. The FISD has been an invaluable resource for this whole project. I'd also like to thank Mike Harrison for having such a great wealth of knowlege on his website. Probably one of the key websites early in my research that set me off on the right foot. Also Mike Gordon's site helped me out a great deal as well. Mike Appling whom I consider a mentor gave me the courage I needed with his first TE2 stunt buildup thread. By the way whats with all the Mike's? Paul Hoeffer, thanks for founding this place! About the costume: The helmet is a TE2 (IMO the finiest quality helmet in the world that you can buy-Thanks Mr.X!) Its painted with Rustoleum Gloss White (Mike Harrison for President!) Trimmed with Testors grey 1138 and Krylon Fusion Satin black. Inside is a Rawling's batting helmet interior, runriott lenses, Wal-Mart Voice changer, Super Trooper speakers inside of Keiths Hovi's. Screen accurate neck and brow trim. Decals from unknown source and some of Scott M's most excellent tube stripes. Soft parts consist of cotton spandex leggings, similar material top and inexpensive neckseal from ebay. (I plan to upgrade to Wyatt's top in the future) Gloves are nomex flight gloves. Canvas belt by Gundamzeppelin and Holster by TK-8280. Boots are CA Boots Armor is Gerard Follano upgraded with Vader Dave's ab-button kit. Blaster is my own personal CS Blaster with functioning folding stock. Its decked out with a resin scope and counter from Dan at Galactic Armory and the grip is from our very own Tony Krewson. The entire gun was built using schematics from the Blaster Builders Club. On a final note. I realize that I can not be approved for Elite Status until I recieve my TKID number. The same pics here are being forwarded to the Alabama 501st GML who already has my written application. Without further delay I present the pictures. Let me know if I missed something. My wife said the belt was crooked but I think thats key when you want your TK to have that cowboy swagger.

ESB or not ESB, that´s my question...

Did you get that on ebay? Ive been eyeballing this fiberglass helmet kit on there for quite some time. It looks like its quality but I tend to shy away from fiberglass helmets. Anybody ever tried this kit? -
dont forget about the Vietnamese orphans. I hear thats a quality boot AND its for a good cause. My next pair will come from there.

No bondo on the cap and back? I figured thats how you were gonna get rid of the waves and ripples.

HOWTO: Make replacement MR-CE Brow Trim
Smitty replied to Mobus's topic in Tutorials, Tips and HOWTOs
Nice work! Gives it more of a hero look but you can always trim the dome brow if you want more of a stunt look. -
I built my VOX out of a $6 walmart toy and supertroopers speakers and all is well. Total cost was under $25. For a couple of dollars LESS, I fixed up the same rig only wireless so there is no wire connecting the helmet to the chest plate and the speaker is mounted in the chest. It has louder volume and you cant tell the sound is coming from the chest. Works great. Right now I'm pushing one 2 inch speaker, considering mounting a second speaker for even more volume. Where as most people think a higher quality mic is the answer, I think the complete opposite. The crappier the mic is the more stormtrooper-ish it sounds. My $.02

Debating a second attempt at making one. TM has some designs for the box laying around *wink wink nudge nudge*

I am almost done. I have another canvass belt coming since I destroyed my last one. Once the belt is finished I think Im in there first pass. Once thats done I want to ditch the thermal detonator for a grapple hook rig.

Master replicas E-11 ANH Elite Status Eligible?
Smitty replied to TK/BH-2177's topic in ANH BlasTech E11
Ive never owned a MR E-11 but I was looking at them on ebay and several places list the weight at approximately 30 pounds. The weight was mentioned several times in this thread. Just wondering did I read it right...Does a MR E-11 really weigh 30 pounds? Thats ridiculous. What did they do cast it hollow and fill it with lead? The Blastech E-11 was supposed to weight 5.6 pounds or something close to that if I remember right. Read it somewhere but cant remember where. -
Drop Box strapping Color Elite Standard

Screenshots from ANH. Missing drop boxes are circled in red. Also one shot on there shows a good example of how Han Solos's holster was attached to the TK belt. -

So far I have 3 supporting screen captures. Even found a few shots of the white strapping where the drop box had fallen off. I'll post what I find. -

Drop Box strapping Color Elite Standard

ahem....is it black or white? -
I can't find this written down anywhere but I remember seeing it posted in some random thread and can't remember which one. For Elite Standards what is the color of the strapping that holds the drop boxes to the belt? I believe I read that it is supposed to be white. Could we get a mention of this requirement on the Elite Standards page? I just changed mine from black to white, I hope I didnt jump the gun.

Behold the power of elbow grease....

I say build your own. My take on the static burst...there isnt a board out there that replicates the movies. I blow into my mic when I want the static. They dont use a static bust in the movies. All they do is click. ALL THAT BEING SAID the triktoys board has some really nice features.

How tall are you and how much do you weigh? Body size is a key element. Bigger troopers will look best in FX or RT Mod Smaller troops look best in kits like AP, GF, TE, TE2 and TM Next is a helmet. FX usually comes with a helmet but those are getting phased out. Modify a MR CE helmet to meet standards and youre set.

I'm on and off in college and have been forever, but no degree. I was in the Navy and worked in Reactor Controls. I helped design the new reactor control system for Nimitz aircraft carriers at Bettis Atomic Labs in PA. I <3 Southside Pitt! Now I am a maintenance technician in a caulk factory but hope to quit soon and work with my dad doing residential electrical work.

I have a TE2 bucket and GF armor and they are a pretty close match. GF and AP is practically the same thing. Look to your left. There was a shade difference in the movies too so that's cool. Camera flash makes it look more noticable. In normal outdoor lighting its barely noticeable.

In the second pic, at first glance I didnt know it was a mannequin first thing thru my mind was "For God's sake man, get some underarmor!" Lookin good!

I made a beret just for the sole purpose of getting out of the helmet for most of the time. I plan to wear the helmet when in the spotlight and on duty and such of course. I figure the best thing is to be friendly and fun, couple of imperial arrests here and there cant hurt. Humping is usually overly friendly....
