  1. yes [email protected] is correct. You were trying to contact them over a weekend too, so give them a little time now that it's a weekday to get ahold of you. and as of 10/10/09 the price including shipping to the US was $61
  2. It's a noble cause, just would have been nice if he had retouched the molds (sense recasting causes loss of detail) and then actually learned how to vacu-form correctly =/ I know a lot of people that could never justify spending the kind of money I have on my TK for a suit, if some ones willing to spend their time and effort and can provide a decent quality suit (which this guy can't) at material cost I would say it's a nice community effort. Though, this will start a whole recasting debate so I digress.
  3. I'm a professional web designer/programmer.
  4. Surprising as it might be women share many of the same interest as men, when I told my wife I wanted to embark on this expensive venture I was expecting her to cring and say no -- instead she said fine, but I get one after you learn how to do it.
  5. I believe you are correct, bicep should be the same.
  6. Cheap suits are made out of it, I've seen a few floating around -- it's a really cheap plastic to get and vacuform, you can get really nice detail out of it too -- so it's alright for display suits, just not for trooping.
  7. If you have scraps left from trimming you could mix some of the glue that melts plastic with some of them and make a sorta paste you could apply behind the folds and to mend the cracks, then sand them down to fix them... only way I know to fix damage on plastic like this.
  8. I meant that HIPS & ABS would stand up better then Styrene -- I see how it could have been read confusingly.
  9. Oh oh! Drama!
  10. Wow, nice! Thought it was a joke at first but then I looked on Google -- lol!
  11. Good to hear, I'm worried about my glasses too though -- hopefully some people who have glasses will chime in.
  12. Has any one tried using a facemask like painters/carpenters use to keep their lenses and/or glasses from fogging up? Just the basic cheapo paper ones, any luck?
  13. The idea was more so to make the helmet what it should have been if it was a functional piece. They appear to be fake air vents, so i figured why not make them real air vents?
  14. Instead of using decals I was going to paint my helmet and perhaps even cut out the slits to allow air to flow (the inside is going to be painted black with rubber truck bedliner.) Would 501st approve such a crazy design!? Might even make a buffer zone about 1/10th an inch thick that is black that will not allow anyone to see in the helmet through the slits but will allow air to flow. ----------
  15. I emailed them yesterday and they contact me today and got UPS info to me. They're quick once they start corresponding.
  16. Definitely looks like a recast and it's Styrene, meaning it won't last you very long if you troop a lot (from my understanding). If it was ABS or MITS I would say it's a decent deal to grab a cheap suit to just go out and fall over in, but that stuff would just crumble if you did that.
  17. THanks! I've emailed them and am waiting for some more info (kind of late at night now, so hopefully they'll catch me tomorrow.)
  18. I've contacted TKBoots to see if I can get a set of theirs, waiting on reply -- I was just wondering about these, because they are possibly the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever owned.
  19. So I'm wondering if these boots meet specs for the 501st or not, if they where white. They are Rockport's (+$100) a pair, i picked them up because their the closest thing I can find in my area and they are sooo comfortable to walk in. I was going to take them to the cobbler soon to get them done in white. --------
  20. I ordered my suit from him on Friday -- my first suit! Talked with him for about an hour about crafting stuff, he sounds like a real nice guy and has a huge passion for props. I can PM you his email if you wish, he can ship you armor cheaper that way (no ebay fees).
  21. Check your PM
