  1. We don't even know if her lid will come off... I'm sure it will, but really, who cares? We keep our lids on in public (mostly) anyway.
  2. Very cool! Her knee plates are upside down... I wonder if that was intentional or a boo-boo?
  3. Seems like you just described the screen accurate boots for basic approval. I think that should be Level 2, IMO. If this was the case with the other costumes then there would be a lot fewer members. JRS being one of them. I think an OT TK boot should be allowed for basic approval for now until the more accurate ones are offered on a large scale.
  4. Eric, can you keep the info compiled in the OP so it's nice and tidy? I'm sure we're going to see multiple pages of input and it would be easier if it's all in one spot. A google doc would work, too.
  5. The rubber gaskets are really the only main issue with this suit. Once we get something that isn't so thick and limiting, I think it will be more comfortable overall than an OT TK. The mobility with the legs are a lot better and the biceps are more comfy. I've re-strapped and tweaked my OT TK about 5 or 6 times in the last 5+ years and this one doesn't seem like it will need as many tweaks... then again, that could be with how I strapped it in the first place because of my exp with the TK and various other costumes. And YES! That helmet was so stinky that I would not have made it that first day if I didn't stick a squirrel fan right in front of my chin to draw in fresh air. It saved me but my eyes paid for it from getting blasted with fumes. I looked like I fell out of Spicoli's VW van
  6. You may want to try again with them and try to get along if you want to be in the 501st. You have to be assigned to the garrison or squad that is closest to where you live, and they will review your 501st application, not here. Then you have to troop at least once a year (official troop) to retain your 501st status.
  7. The TK third down must have given his thermal det some viagra
  8. The Padme could use some more accurate parts. I just happen to know a guy that does those.. heh
  9. IMDB has him at 5' 9", as do some other sources on the net.
  10. This is something that has always perplexed me. Mark Hamill is 5' 9", which is by no means, short. Sure he looked short-ish standing next to Harrison Ford, who is 6' 1", but it's not like he is the same stature as Ronnie James Dio. Also Temuera Morrison is only 5' 7", which IS kind of short.... meaning that all the clones were 5' 7"..... you get where I'm going. Leia's "short" line pretty much wrecked it for the vertically challenged. If she hadn't of said that, then we would never hear the public say anything about TK height.

    TK vs. Mando?

I have to agree. I have seen some truly awful mercs, but I have also seen some really incredible ones that "wow" me. A couple of folks in my garrison have incredible costumes that look like they could have been in a one of the movies. I say if it looks good, rock it because it's your choice. Personally, I would never build one because I'm more of a movie canon kind of guy. It takes the guess work out of it since 95% of the public doesn't have a clue about anything outside of the 6 movies. I have heard comments like "look at all the Boba Fetts", or "what's wrong with Boba?", "why is Boba (insert color)?", and on and on. I even get odd comments about my Kashyyyk Trooper since many people haven't seen EP3 over and over like we have.... I get "recon scout", and "cammo or army scout" quite a bit. When I explain to people what the character is, it jogs their memory and they remember the scene. The mercs don't get that luxury and usually cause the public draw blank expressions when their origin is explained.
  12. I get dizzy with bubble'd lenses as well and switched to flat long ago. I also discovered that if the lenses are too green, like ANH, then it's no fun either since it cuts too much out of the light spectrum and messes with certain colors. I use the green/grey lenses and it's much better. I have ROTJ lids and can get away with it though.
  13. I like to shout "everybody frown!" when taking pics w/people ... it usually does just the opposite and makes them laugh.
  14. Myself, along with several other members from Cloud City Garrison and Kashyyyk Base, were part of this project. It wouldn't have looked nearly as good as it did without our involvement/costumes. The officers were NOT our costumes, which is why they didn't look all that great It was filmed over 4 days last January in an extremely cold warehouse... looooong days! And we did it all for free, of course.
  15. That's a big troop for your first! I should know since I started my 501st career with the SWIC troop last October. There seems to be something missing in the pics, though... where are all the frickin people? I literrally COULD not move from the wall to wall people waiting to get their pics taken.
  16. A shot from her inaugural troop today... I'm on the left.
  17. Just finished it up yesterday..... looks better than mine I'm going to look obese standing next to her since she is only 130lbs (5'6") and I'm 200lbs (5'11"). I may just have to troop in one of my other costumes when she is wearing her TK. She also has a TI, IC, Queen Amidala throne room dress, working on a Zam build, and getting close to completing and arena Padme outfit from AOTC.
  18. Could the reason be the from all the missing liquid in that tequila bottle?
  19. Same here... I want to lose about 25lbs... 205 and 5' 11". My wife and I recently signed up to run the Portland Marathon in October so I'm hoping to see a lot of changes. We also dropped some cash on a VO2 test that shows you what your optimal fat burning zone is and when you stop burning fat and start burning glucose, which is bad since it will start eating lean body mass. There is a trooper in my garrison that decided to lose over 100lbs because he wanted to get healthy AND look good in his costumes (he has a lot of them). It's extremely motivating and he pretty much did it by just changing his diet. Instead of starting with an overweight friendly costume like a TI, IC, or AT-AT driver, he set his sights on getting into a TK first, so he lost the weight. There is an article some local rag wrote about him and I will see if I can dig it up.
  20. They just yanked 1 of 9. The rest are still there http://www.youtube.com/user/RedLetterMedia
