  1. Hi All, I am the other half of this issue. The armor I received is way too small, as I described in my build thread: The clearest example is the thigh plating. I measured 26in and the internal diameter of my thigh plates is 24 in. Commander Code posted pictures of his and he is swimming in them. Hopefully, we can get this sorted out. -Joe

  2. Hey Troops! You all have been great. I'm loving this community the more I post. Some interesting info has come my way. I was messaged by another group member whom just recieved their AP Armor a few days before me. They state their armor is way too small. They sent me their specs and it is unfortunate to say but I believe Mark made a large boo boo. My suit (originally) seems like it would have fit him perfectly and vice versa. We are in communication and will hopefully get to the bottom of this. What could be done? Should AP be held responsible? If so, what is recommended action? TIA

  3. Pays to make sure you give as many measurements as you can. It doesn't always happen that you have to do extensive rework, most of the time it's just adjusting some strapping and armor placement. Good to hear you have local help in needed, most garrisons have members willing to lend a hand, "troopers helping troopers"

  4. I'm watching your progress with great interest as I am considering an AP armor commission. An immediate difference is you have no gut and I have a gut which is adding 10" to your size. Your thigh size is the same as me so I'm concerned there too for that gap. I'm sure you will get all the help you need to get it right for you, but it does suck that you have to make those drastic changes right away. I'm in contact with someone from my local garrison that can help me should I go this route too. Bart

  5. Hi Michael. You nailed it!!! Just one detail... For the higher levels, the angle on your sniper knee plate could be a little sharper(don't make the corner a sharp one). Reference images

  6. On the topic of having to refit the armor... yeah, it's not ideal. The amount you're having to refit seems extreme. But please take this perspective - you have a fully built suit of armor to start from as a guide. As someone who received the box of untrimmed ABS sheets, that's HUGE. I was totally and completely overwhelmed by the box, so much that mine sat in storage for around 4 years. Getting to start from a "finished" place and modify it for your body is a lot easier task to undergo IMHO. Not trying to apologize for AP or white knight or anything. Just saying that in retrospect I would have happily paid $700 more to start from where you are than from the untrimmed box starting line. It sucks yours wasn't a bit better fit, but it's still a good starting point. Anyways, back to the armor. Yours is looking better and better. But... why is there such a gap between the abs and chest? Mine overlaps by about 2". I believe your ab/kidney/cod armor needs to come up much higher than you have it. That would let the thighs come up higher and possibly fit better.

  7. Thanks for the consistent info and encouragement. I will take a look through these other threads. I will do my best to trim only what is "necessary" and will fill the void with foam. I purchased the armor with Centurion level in mind and as goal. You all will be seeing a lot of me for a while.

  9. By the looks of that armor, I could probably squeeze in there. Patience and doing little by little as to remove some of that slack will help. I follow simple but important rule of never take too much off because once it is gone, there is no putting it back. Keep up the good work and in the end, the rewards will be well worth the effort.

  10. Hi Code! Based on what I can see, it looks as if this armor is a bit too large for your frame and will more than likely need some adjustments. Not all troopers are the same build of course, but as stated in the CRL for Basic approval: Requirements for all 501st costumes are proportional to the wearer in scale, fit and size. In photo 1, it appears that your posterior plate is sitting pretty far away from your... well... posterior. I realize that you (as I do) have a slender frame, but the armor should be more "form fitting" as seen in the reference images. This photo surprises me the most. A general rule of thumb is that you should just be able to slide your hand in between the top of the thigh armor and your leg (give or take a bit), and it looks as if the circumference is way too large. The shoulder bells are riding kinda' high and sitting out pretty far away from the chest plate, and I believe this is due to the strapping. Without a picture I can't be sure, but I'm thinking that the bell strap is glued too far down below the top edge (yellow arrow) causing it to ride up. Gluing it all the way to the top should eliminate both issues. This will also help to hide the tops of the biceps, but those could (should) be raised as well. Note in the reference image how far they sit under the bell. We are here to help every step of the way with any specific adjustments you need to do, Code, so not to worry! Will it take some work on your part? Yep, but we are here to guide you and make sure you end up with a spectacular set of armor! I would concentrate on one area at a time, and posting up some photos wearing the complete set before you start would help immensely. Let's do this!

  11. Technically not Legion merch, more of "personal" merch from Albin, so really no need to follow all these rules.

  12. I guess LMBO's could look into it if they dared or cared. Many have asked the questions in the past but little has been done to date, I guess even the mouse could get involved if they really cared in loss of earnings or the use of their IP in this manner although I would think Albin would probably has been given the ok as he donates excess funds to charities
