  1. Hey guys, my name is Mike, 20 years old and from Hamburg in Germany! I am already a member of the 501st German Garrison with my 327th Clone Trooper and the number CT-12840. Spontanously I decided to buy an ANH Stunt Ironmotion kit from a friend of mine. After the convention last weekend I visited, where a few TK's where, I decided to start this build now! The thing is, that I bought this kit with no information about the build because of the cheap price. Thats why I have to start with informing myself about this (something I pretty good know fromy Clone build times) But I am really motivatet to start this project and I am looking forward to be one of yours as well guys, my name is Mike and I am from Hamburg in Germany! 3. Just posting a few handy vocoder images from ANH. As per the photos, there is quite a common theme/style amongst the stunt helmets. As with all things ANH, there are variations and exceptions. I’m posting this based on the 501st’s usual pattern of selecting the “most common” appearance for uniformity. *note that the current CRL does not specify anything more than the vocoder must be painted black. The main thing to note is how “most” ANH stunt helmets have the “fuller” vocoder style. This is when bars 2 and 6 are quite long/tall. See pictures below. there are variations and exceptions: however, the below image shows two clearly different vocoder styles. Hero helmets have more variation, some with a fuller vocoder, others with a thinner central section.

  5. It looks (at least from the photos) that you have almost no return edge as it is, which should allow you to trim them with no issues, so I honestly would not recommend attempting to put a return edge back on them. Just make sure that the cod snaps are connected and you may be good to go.

  6. Hooray! Thanks for the feedback. I'll be participating in my first Troop this Saturday, so hopefully I'll know after that whether I want to do any additional trimming. Can you point me to any instructions specific to trimming down already-finished thigh armor, in case I want to pursue that option? Would I basically be losing some of the return edge that currently exists in the top inner thigh armor? Do I tear off the cover strip first or just trim it all in-place? Otherwise I'll try to find a nice, bright, high-contrast area to take some updated photos before I send in my centurion application. Although it seems like I can pretty much apply with what I have. I'm satisfied with the look of my tube stripes and ear placement as long as they fall within the acceptable range, and would rather not risk damaging the helmet.
