  3. Hi from Pennsylvania! My armor has recently been approved. I got the newer Anovos kit. My kit was completed in around two weeks, much thanks to my dad because i inconveniently got my wisdom teeth out the day after we got it[emoji58][emoji23]. I did buy a Rob Kittel belt and some MrNoStripes brackets, and i went to JoAnns for a chin strap and the fabric for the thigh system. I got my armor looked at at the last garisson bash and i got some awesome photos done by Marty Miller. Thanks to everyone for all the help! Just one more question...why does the armor make me look so tall[emoji23]? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  4. GREAT responses, everyone! I gotta answer a question raised by Tisco2K, though... "Who doesnt love stormtroopers ..." Rebel scum, that's who.. LOL. You are absolutely correct though, Charley. Any TK who has been on a troop with members of our sister organization will attest to the fact that people would rather get a pic with a Stormtrooper. We are just that cool.

  6. First cuts are the most difficult! Once I got the hang of it..wasn't too bad. Forearms with no lip...my skinny arm for sizing. I will need to trim more obviously. I will be cutting to spec first then taking sizing down to fit later. Biceps before and after. I left a 1/4" lip on the edges. cut and sanded with 120 grit for now.

  7. Someone asked me this question at a convention recently because the wanted to get involved with the 501st and I'll answer it the same. Other then our love for Star Wars, We get to dress up as our favorite character to help people. Sometimes its to raise money but mostly we get to lift someones spirit.

  8. If you are (hopefully) looking to join the 501st, I would run from this, Aaron. Very fast. There is no possible way this kit would ever be approved. Actually 99.9% of any armor you will find online (like ebay) will be only good for cons or costume parties. It's kind of a "you get what you pay for" thing, and for not that much more money you can get a kit from one of the "vetted" armorers on the link that Dan posted above. I do find the belt in this kit especially interesting...

  11. I've finally got some real time to dedicate to this after what seems like ages not being able to do very much with it. The helmet is almost finished, just got to add the frown mesh which is drying after being painted and I also have to add padding. Everything has been hand painted, no decals this time! I'll take some better shots as soon as I can. Ive based this (loosely) on the set for stun lid. the torso is all but complete minus some paint on the ab buttons so I should have some progress to show with the arms and legs within the next few days .

  12. I cut my bum tonight This is all I had the time to trim tonight, at the moment I only have an hour or so to dedicate to the suit after work etc, so it'll be a bit slower going during the week than I would like until I get to the trimming finished. I have the next couple of weekends off though so I'll have a good chunk of time to dedicate to the build then. I'm aiming to trim at least the chest and ab section tomorrow. I know, I should really slow down with all this building at break neck speed business
