Fiberglass = Recast?

Just wondering if a helmet is made out of fiberglass, is it a guaranteed recast? Are all of the real prop makers using ABS or Styrene only? Is there anyone making original helmets out of fiberglass? Just wondering, because I see plenty of good looking helmets on Ebay, but then they are made from fiberglass.

TE did make some fiberglass SFS helmets years ago, but there weren't many. The helmets on ebay that are fiberglass are all recast though.

No it doesn't.

fiberglass almost always means recast. other than the ones listed above I can't think of any more FG helmets that are "legit"

There are always FG lids on e-bay and god knows where they originate from.

 

The only FG lid I own is the TE SFS which I was lucky to obtain completed!
