Hey guys!

Savings are going fantastic and I'll be pulling the trigger on my brown box muchhhhh sooner than I hoped. Should be good to order by the end of the month! SO EXCITED.

But enough about me and my sheer joy.

I have a tad bit of a dilemma. I have a friend in town whom I met through connections. He's a TD and I'm pretty sure he ordered AP which is the kit that I'm getting. He's assured me to order I trimmed but, I'm VERY nervous about the trimming itself. Not that I don't trust the help and guidance of my new trooper pal, I just thought I'd throw it up for debate. See what kind of answers I get.

So my main issue is the actual trimming. What happens if I, you know "mess it up", to put so lightly. I'm nearly SOL right?

So getting to the point; I'm afraid that I won't be able to do it.

Is it frowned upon because it costs more or for other reasons? I don't really mind spending the extra to have the piece of mind knowing I can't butcher my very expensive armor.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Go with your gut. Since your not comfortable then go for the trimmed, especially if it's your first time. You'll still learn a lot about trimming while building it. AP does an excellent job with their trimmed armor but you'll still want to try pieces on before gluing them together so you may still have to do a tiny bit of trimming. You just won't have to deal with all the excess abs material.

For untrimmed, as pattrooper said, take your time if you choose to go that route.

Either way, always have a sharp blade in your knife :)

Some great advice from pattrooper and Snaps there, Justin.  Better to take your time, as you can always remove more if you need to.  I would invest in a roll of 1 1/2 inch blue painters' tape for test fitting at each step, and then you can decide if more needs to come off.  I would also think about starting a build thread, that way you can post photos if you should have any questions about fitting.  Don't worry, we are here to help!

Untrimmed gives you a little more advantage to size to your body but not much with the AP. Measure twice, cut once is great advice. if your not sure always ask ;)

trim a little at a time, measure 2,3,4 times and cut once. Also take your time ask a lot of questions it's not a race.

Thanks! I've never worked with ABS before so it's probably why I'm so uneasy about it.

What I was kind of thinking. Mainly because it's my first build. So far I am starting to lean more towards untrimmed though.

Great idea! Could even find some black tape somewhere, might help with the under suit on to see what I may look like afterwards!

That's what I'm afraid of! Not fitting properly. I am an average build that's why I wasn't overly concerned with trimmed but yeah, being able to control it myself isn't a bad idea.

Exactly! Thanks!

Thanks guys! Great feedback. Love this site :) Probably going to go with untrimmed. Save me the money, and yeah i'll definitely make a build thread.
