I actually have no idea when I first watched it, I've been a fan as long as I can remember. I'm pretty sure the very first time was when I watched an old, battered tape one of my Auntie's boyfriends (she goes through them like I go through SW books) brought one day.

I was probably (remembers that this was before school) four or five then. Of course, I've converted to the Dark Side since then.

Twas A New Hope, no sense in starting with any of the others, eh? This was a'course before the prequels.

I don't actually remember watching Star Wars for the first time. I must have been shown them on video when I was 2 or 3 because I've been a fan for as long as I can remember. I remember being in complete awe of my sister's boyfriend's action figure collection (AT-ATs and wampas!) and I played X-Wing when it first came out, so I was 4 or 5, and I knew all about Star Wars by then. I was playing stormtrooper dress up at 5 after playing Dark Forces

I remember being stoked about the Special editions, but I never saw them in the cinema :(

i think i was about 4 the first time i saw it so it would have been about 1986.

we used to watch it at my first school every christmas, on the last day we'd bring our games/toys in, then watch half of it on a projector in the hall, then have lunch, then watch the rest then go home. every year for 4 years.

we also had ESB on beta at home, me and my brother watched it that many times that the tape broke which meant there was a line through the middle of the screen.

good times

How old were you? 11

What year? 1977

What movie theater (if you can remember)? Theater In The Mall

What city? Wilkes Barre PA

Any other interesting info surrounding your first "experience?"

I didn't even WANT to see it! My Uncle was a huge Sci-Fi nut, and he took me opening day. We waited in line for hours, and I was so mad that I didn't even care if I saw or it not. Basically I threw an 11 year old temper tantrum. My Uncle was ready to back hand me a couple times!

Obviously, I got through it and needless to say, like so many others back in the Summer Of 77, I was hooked!

My collecting also started that day. After it was over, the theater had tables set up in the lobby with a program, a newspaper, a pin and a poster. My Uncle bought one of each for us, and I still have them. My collection has continued ever since! :)

Me too...Here's a pic I dug up showing my program from the day I saw Star Wars in 1977 (upper left. The magazine is also from 1977)!

It was May 25th, 1977. I was 6 1/2 years old and my dad took me to see Star Wars at the Tri State theater here in Delaware. I think it may have been in Wilmington. I would have thought it was the State Theater on Main Street, Newark. I was wrong. I don't remember anything about it but my sister says all I could talk about was that movie. "Do you remember when he did that." Did you see how they did this." I don't remember seeing any of the original movies in the theaters. I have blocked out a lot of memories from my childhood and wish I could get them all back. Maybe I'll get hypnotized and see if I can remember any of it.

The only thing I remember is going back to Kansas after visiting my dad and my step dad taking me to the Dodge dealership just across the interstate, and who was there? "DARTH VADER!!! OMG it's him. Look, look. See him? He's right over there." He had two Jawa's with him. That was AWESOME. I found out later, in life, that a girl I knew was one of those Jawa's. Kind of ruined the experience a little.

I do know I have been a Star Wars fan ever since that first day in the theaters. I saw all of them the summer they came out. Maybe not opening day, but my dad was the one who took me to see them. I had a model Millenium Falcon that you assembled and it had lights where the engines were on the back. I blew the hell out of that thing with fireworks. :( Good times.

I flew back to NYC from CO to watch EPIII with some friends of mine in Long Island. That was good times. I saw EPII with them when I was still living in NYC.

Those were all great stories everyone. I read every last one of them and then posted my lame one. :) I SO wish I could remember them.

So in May of 77 I was 4 and a half. I was still living in Puerto Rico and I remember seeing the movie with my parents but it's more of a flash memory because I remember the first time Vader came on the screen during the Tantive Raid. I can remember the white Stormies. I also remember calling Vader, Darth Vardar. I honestly can't remember if I saw the movie in Spanish or English though I'm sure it was in English, but I did not speak it back then. My parents did but I had not yet learned English. Now for Empire, I was in the states by then and lived in Orlando FL. I'm pretty sure we went to a theater near the Colonial Mall, not sure the name, saw Return there also. Always with my dad.
