Greetings everyone,

I am almost finished with my first TK build, and am getting to the small details like return edges and such. I used bronze rivets for the 3 adjacent ab and kidney connections, what would you guys recommend using to paint these white? I was almost thinking perhaps a white nail polish; for the brush will help with through coverage and give me a nice shiny finish. Or stick with the traditional mask-off surrounding armor and spray them down? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Best regards,

Julian

I just used some white model paint with a small brush. I didn't bother other masking the plastic.

I'd use Testors or Humbrol. You can also just spray a bit of spray paint into the the cap and brush that on if you do a couple of coats. I would think that nail varnish might chip easily.

I use a bit of primer first, helps the top coat cover nicely

Giving a light sanding to the heads of the rivets will help the paint to hold on better, But like it was said above you will see some wear, which it does give them some character and some authenticity Eg realism

G Lucas said he wanted the the Galaxy to have that live in look.

But, if it your preference is to keep them un-battle worn... then from time to time you may have to do some touch ups....
