Gave it a nice shine too:) Had to do a few coats, but I like how it turned out. On my first bucket, I just used black spray paint. That worked too. Just be careful of over spray. Apollo Posted November 9, 2007 Report Share Posted November 9, 2007 I used krylon fusion satin black. It's a plastic bonding paint and it has stayed stuck to the inside of that bucket completely. I've ripped 3 kinds of glue off of it and a few different kinds of tape and it hasn't chipped at all. Only one coat too. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

kiyotei[TK] Posted November 9, 2007 Report Share Posted November 9, 2007 I used fusion flat black. I didn't want the inside shiney at all. No primer needed with Fusion. Worked really well. I painted my helmet before I put it together so it was pretty easy. Definitely mask the entire helmet to prevent over spray. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
TK4205 Posted November 10, 2007 Report Share Posted November 10, 2007 Dorsk88 used a spray on rubber coating and got exelent results. Paint is great for asthetic purposes. I like it better than leaving it white. The truck bed lining looks good and also adds to the integrity of the helmet. Lots more rigid and it doesn't squeek when you handle it. I have built about 7 or 8 helmets for myself and friends, and I have painted every one of them with it.
