My girlfriend is notorious for taking horrible shots Oops! I forgot my thermal detonator. It's pictured below! Quote
Thalizar[TK] Posted April 13, 2012 Report Posted April 13, 2012 Only thing I see and it's a small detail is perhaps moving the TD faceplate and having it more centered looks like in the photo the gray area is a bit uneven but otherwise looking good Andy! Quote
anphrax[TK] Posted April 13, 2012 Author Report Posted April 13, 2012 Ah. I think the left side round piece need re-gluing. Thanks for the heads up! Quote
matt black Posted April 13, 2012 Report Posted April 13, 2012 Nice build Andy. Just a small thing but maybe the drop boxes could come up closer to the belt just a bit. Quote
anphrax[TK] Posted April 13, 2012 Author Report Posted April 13, 2012 Another reply! I looked through a few other EIB accepted threads and saw that was mentioned for troopers also applying for centurion. Maybe when the time comes... heh! Quote
matt black Posted April 13, 2012 Report Posted April 13, 2012 Cool. The armour fits you really well. Quote
anphrax[TK] Posted April 13, 2012 Author Report Posted April 13, 2012 (edited) Thank you! I'm still figuring out exactly how to wear it but my first two troops have gone really well! A few things I know I need to do: connect the biceps to the shoulders so they don't rotate or fall down, and put some black padding in the top of my butt plate because my bubble butt pushes it into my kidneys and it looks a little off. I have a pillow for that but can't seem to find it... >_< Edited April 13, 2012 by anphrax Quote
SolderMaster Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Here's my two cents... I would tighten up the strapping between your butt and kidney plate. Shorten up your drop boxes like previously mentioned. Your left bicep is a little twisted. Possibly shorten the strapping for the right thigh, maybe the left also. Maybe shorten up the strapping between the cod and butt plate. Looks like the butt "tab" is flaring out a bit. Quote
Sparrow Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 (edited) I also would recommend to tighten up the strapping between your butt and kidney plate. There is way top much of a gap on the sides. It should sit more flush. A bit of velcro on the left and right would fix that and you could play with placement to get it right. Agreed, shorten up your drop boxes . Your but plate is also sticking out. Perhaps the but to cod strap it to long. I would also recommend to pull the back plate up a bit, so it is flush with the kidney plate ? There should be any overlap. I have tight snaps connecting the two so it is a very flush fit. Minor tweeks, but looking good! Edited April 14, 2012 by Sparrow Quote
anphrax[TK] Posted April 14, 2012 Author Report Posted April 14, 2012 (edited) Well I guess I shouldn't have applied for EIB before I found my butt pillow! I found it! That will help with the lower butt plate flaring out. A few things about the great comments (thanks guys!): the problem with my back to kidney plate area is that I cut my ATA wrong and effectively turned it into FX (no return edge), oops! And as for the bicep being rotated that was just a wardrobe malfunction! Another oops! I can't make the straps on my thighs longer... they were longer before and I was told to shorten them in order to be approved for 501st. Not sure what do there. Maybe I won't get EIB... I was really just getting it because I thought I was "there". edit: I might also mention that my torso is pretty long. Maybe I just don't have the right body type for a Stormtrooper Thanks for all the input, it really is appreciated (even though I might seem sour, I swear I'm not!!) Thalizar[TK] Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Don't throw in the towel yet. your build looks quite good, The fixes that people mentioned are fairly painless fixes, mostly looking at strapping and perhaps some velcro in places. I'm 6'2" and am in ATA with a longer torso. Not everyone is built like a screen TK. With a few adjustments you will be there. Quote
anphrax[TK] Posted April 14, 2012 Author Report Posted April 14, 2012 Oh, no... I totally get that! I've just been putting so much time into this thing that I think maybe I should step back for a bit before I go making all sorts of adjustments and what not. I really like the way it fits now and with the butt pillow I think it'll look just fine Hopefully trooping this weekend. I'll have a garrison mate take some better pictures! Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Not that the above suggestions are required for EIB, they do have a point. It's only to make you look "that little extra". In the same spirit I recommend the crotch strap, between the butt plate and the cod. It's very effective against the tail-look you can get if the butt plate is not in the right angle. But none of this affects my approval. Good work Trooper! Quote
anphrax[TK] Posted April 14, 2012 Author Report Posted April 14, 2012 Righteous! Thank you Like I said.. I think with the butt pillow that I couldn't find for these photos, the tail look won't be there. Thanks again for the tips, everyone! Quote
Dazauto[TK] Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Congrats Andy, looking good trooper Quote
senna1rossi[TK] Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 cool, CONGRATS on your EIB!! Quote
