Dmian
he sculpted the forming buck. by using the clay model as a guide. Not at all! He did nothing but vacuum forming. The forming mold was given to him by the studio. They had a vacuum molding machine at Elstree, this machine broke and they had to outsource the production to Shepperton. But they had everything in order to produce the suits themselves. In fact they made some tests before the machine broke. Brian Muir has confirmed this. I think Brian said that the original molds were plaster molds, reinforced or something like that. He doesn't have original molds, and I'm starting to think he had to give the original molds back to the studio, where they belonged. The studio probably dumped those with the rest of the "leftovers" from the movies. He only had some molds covers and a couple of unfinished helmets that he sold a long time ago. He probably recasted that and other armor from fans to create his "original" line.

pandatrooper[TK]
Pretty sure that in Brian's book, he documented that while he was at the studio working on ANH the "plasterers" in the shop created molds and fiberglass versions of his sculpture to use as bucks for forming.
