ANH TK suit stunt

Recommended Posts

hello guys i'm just asking if this store can be qualified to CRL Requirements?

its from Shepperton design studios, and the chairman of this store is Mr. Andrew Ainsworth the one who make the TK ANH way back in Ep 4.

he is selling costume and accessories for the TK. if this qualified i will buy this in the future.

if you notice the armor of ANH suit the holster is not attach at the belt. because it is excluded, part of the accessories, you must buy the holster separately and the Helmet also. for the holster i will modify my self, i will call assistance to the Philippine Outpost for the making of holster.

The andrew ainsworth story

Main site

http://www.originalstormtrooper.com

and also they have Facebook page of the original stormtrooper

http://www.facebook.com/OriginalStormtrooper

"In 1976 prop maker Andrew Ainsworth of Shepperton Design Studios created the original Stormtrooper helmets and armour for the first Star Wars movie, A New Hope. All these years later, Andrew produces genuine, authentic replicas using the original moulds, as close as it is possible to get to the original film props.

Original Stormtrooper.com is the new Shepperton Design Studios website where you can buy our trooper, Imperial and Rebel products online, whether you are a costumer looking to be the envy of your garrison or a collector looking for the ultimate in memorabilia."

thank you for answering. :)

Do a search for Ainsworth or Shepperton here and you will find A LOT to read about him.

In a nutshell: His claims are false and you'd get a mediocre and waaaay overpriced umpteenth generation TE recast suit with a distorted helmet.

Do some research on here and you'll find way better suits to spend your money on!

If you're asking can an SDS suit be used for 501st clearance, the answer is yes.

However, do read up on this guy. I like him personally (i used to work down the road from his shop) but he is a liar sadly.

He makes claims that are not true and has thus put himself in a position where nothing he says can be taken as gospel anymore.

The body suits he makes are no way near an original suit.

He then claims then helmet moulds are also original too. Little differences will tell you that they may not be (then based on his lies about his body armour, why believe anything he has to say at all)

Search for AA or SDS on here and you will find lots of negative comments about him.

Example:

Look at this ONE fact.(original recently found suit)

P8270186.jpg

Do you notice the little dimple at the bottom of the AB detail? (the vertical 4 button plate)

SDS doesn't have that. No story he can ever give will explain why that's just gone missing.

There are loads of others things that don't match up either.

So, yes he made them in 76, no one denies that, yes he can vac form suits rather well, but.................they are not from the original moulds.

A pair of his shoulder bells will cost you £113. I sell mine for £20 :)

Here's and SDS uit

Take a look on this site and you'll find many other types of armor.

http://www.starwarshelmets.com/fan-made-stormtrooper-armor-submenu.htm

Would stay away from Shepperton and also from TE ( only second hand from trusted people)

If you want a armor which look like from screen , well than look after a Troopermaster ( TM ) armor.

http://www.starwarshelmets.com/tm_helmet_and_armor.htm

He's a very patient, friendly and a also candidly guy.And the armor is each penny worth it.

You can find him here in the forum.

So that means this SDS is acceptable for CRL requirements?

Yes. If FX is, so is this stuff :)

His suits are good, come ready made but in velcro etc.

We're just just telling you that's you're paying way over the odds for it. It's not accurate (very close though) plus some of his stuff is made from HIPS and can crack.

So if you're dead set on buying from him..... Ask him what his replacement policy is if it cracks, and does he use HIPS or ABS

The lads here don't mention his name much or advertise him in anyway due to the 2 LFL vs AA court cases in the UK and US

the armor and helmets Fabricated in white 2mm Acrylic capped ABS. i will tell andrew on his page if he can replace if there is crack.

for the court he won, the resolution is he can distribute to the any country except US.

I see, but i read last time ago the TM is untrimmed? I dont know how to build a kit but can i ask him to make ready to wear suit?

It's gonna cost extra, but yes, you could ask that.

Yes it is.

BTW, he also makes suits in 2mm acrylic capped ABS if you'd like that.

Very nice, but i'm worried about the kit. His kit is untrimmed and i dont know how to build. Can he make the suit ready to wear? Sorry for the double post.

Wow interesting! So any idea how much the cost? Kit and ready to wear. If you know sir.

You will have to ask him about that. But more than untrimmed, and a lot more than an untrimmed ATA kit.
