  1. Not sure about the cut out rear helmet "vents", and the forearm armor trimming (they still have a bit of return edge, it should be removed completely). Also, the Hengstler counter is mounted way too high up - no reference pic I know shows the box so far from the folding stock. Other than that, it looks good.
  2. All original screen/prop accurate strapping for me, and no fancy helmet mods for me. And it works perfectly! I had fans in my first trooping helmet but they never really did anything useful for me besides making a bit of noise - which sucked.
  3. Welcome to the ranks of centurion troops. See, it all worked quite fast - now let's see when the bug hits you to upgrade to something a bit more accurate than AP. JK, looks good. Let's troop together sometime soon!
  4. The newer batch of TK boots are a bit more loose and bigger in general, I own the older model in size 12 as well as the newer size 12 and the latter are significantly larger. Here's a pic: Old ones left, new ones right. I think if I knew beforehand that the newer model boot tends to be more loose fitting being the same size, I'd have ordered a size 11 instead.
  5. Wait a minute...where is Luke's thigh armor in that picture? And why is he wearing an ESB style holster? And why is his detonator not on his belt? And where the heck is Leia's nose? Anyways, welcome, Ian.
  6. Maybe the woman is Bespin Luke and the guy... well, beats me. Looks like he has fall leaves on his hat. Maybe he's the forest moon of Endor?
  7. Whoa - I just read that for Rebel Assault 2, real archive costumes were used, and not newly made. Those look to be in surprisingly good shape considering their age at the point the game was made. Also, in the link I posted from Jez's site, Don Bies is quoted as saying that basically those SE tour stormtrooper were originally just made for promotion purposes and not specifically for 1997 pick-up scenes. Those were rather a hastily added-on extra so to speak, since they already had over 30 new stormie suits made. Interesting!
  8. Here's more of those same "newly pulled" ROTJ based stormtroopers, or sandtroopers. ----------- Also check this vid @ around 2:15 for more ROTJ style troopers. And they show up more often in that title, you see a lot of armor actually in those cutscenes filmed for the game. And again, from 1:24 onwards: I can not for the life of me find the pics I mentioned of a room full od stormtrooper torso and helmet components with a couple of men and women posing with them, holding the helmets. Anyone know which pics I am talking about? I thought they were on Jez's site somewhere as well but I can't find them there at the moment. Edit: never mind, I just found those pics: http://www.starwarsh...mor-helmets.htm
  9. Thanks, very cool. I already hate that I missed events like those back in the day when costumed people came to Germany. I do remember some pic of a couple of men and women in a workshop that looks to be from around mid 90s where they made the 1997 SE stormtrooper/sandtrooper suits as well as the tour ones. AFAIK those were made from ROTJ based moulds but indeed new vac pulls. Edit: those are costumes from that same "production line" that were filmed for special edition insert scenes (Mos Eisley has some clean stormtroopers in some scenes), and they look similar. ---------- I'll try and find that other pic.
  10. Interesting observation. Must've just fallen off due to the ROTJ ears being just glued instead of screwed on.
  11. You found a way to take a wee in armor? If it can be explained in ways not too risky and detailed, do tell. Nice looking pics. Has that thigh ammo belt center rivet always been there, though? Why not paint it white and cover it a bit with wetahering? Or ist it a detail from a screen matched trooper you incorporated into your build?
  12. They were in Germany as well, Paul? Would you share those pics here maybe? Nice pics, Rich. Poor Vader though - I love how they have the cardboard standee right there behind him and no one bothered to compare chest box positioning. And strange how it seems they couldn't figure out the relatively straightforward way to close a stormtrooper belt in the back... like duh? Velcro to velcro, how hard can it be.
  13. Seih dier mal da nihcd so sicha. Okay, you got me - it's my evil twin, the one who tries to kon everybody all the time. You know, konning Dennis. He is also quite kunning.
  14. It's not me! His German is quite like mine, granted, but...I'd never sell a beauty like that.
  15. Lokking very good there, Steven. Now weather the heck out of that baby, TANTIVE IV style.
  16. Turned out pretty sweet so far. Time to suit up, Jesse! Pics in full armor are what we need here. Until then, I am totally hijacking your thread with a pic of me in my RS armor just for kicks. MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
  17. But then again, you really were a little fast here. (This is coming from me being one of his German GMLs ) Also, I was his number one "question answerer", right Sven? First, as I said before, please wait until your 501st status is confirmed and do keep in mind that a membership application might take some time in a garrison of our size. I know you're impatient and all that, but take one step at a time. The deto clips (not too accurate like Paul already pointed out) you used did turn out to be a bit disproportionate for the kind of detonator supplied with your AP armor. Making your own custom ones from sheet aluminum might have been the better option for your costume. Well, you can always upgrade!
  18. Your forearms do seem to have some return edge left. In general, your armor edge trimming seems a bit sloppy in places, as do some finishing strips on the shins. The inner drop boxes are missing, the closed lid you glued into the regular ones don't really do the job IMHO.
  19. Thanks for your input and praise, guys! This one might just stay pristine (let's say this is what the SFS looked liked when filming began ). Good idea with the head shrinking, Billy! If you find that tribe, give me a holler.
  20. Whoa, thanks! Here's another pic with 2 bigger brothers: So what's the verdict, gents: add SFS paint chippings and weathering or leave this fella as is? I'm really torn about that.
