  1. Well Steve, you better get that camera charged up mate because your helmet is on it's way to you today!
  2. I just can't keep away from this thread Steve. Your armour and display look amazing! @ trooper19838: Loakes are very close to what was used in ANH, but not ThE actual boots.
  3. If you want to make your thigh armour narrower, undo the back joining strip and tighten them up. Don't try to line the top of the inner with the outer piece as this will make them too wide for you. Most of the ANH thighs are mis-aligned at the backs and you just need to cut your joining strip at an angle to suit. Looking pretty amazing there Rich!
  4. WOW Dan! Looking fantastic there mate. Great photos too
  5. Top job on the boots Steve! They are going to look sweet on your mannequin. Loakes are not the boots that was used originally, but close enough. The real boots are no longer available as far as I know.
  6. The test shots of the Stormtrooper shows what is now the main belt attached to the lower thigh, so I don't the knee strap was put there to hide anything, especially as the armour was sculpted perfectly and it was just the assembly that was bad. It's things like these misaligned parts, doubled shoulder bells and hand plates that really make a replica look more screen accurate. I don't think there are many perfectly assembled troopers in ANH.
  7. Looking AWESOME Steve! @Karin, The shins are assembled like that because the inside part is actually the outside of the left leg which are slightly shorter. The screen used armour was thrown together and the shins were terrible on most suits (I like that) so I made mine the same. @Steve, Helmet on it's way very soon
  8. Why have you removed the other photo Joe? <comment deleted>
  9. There are no adjustable straps on this suit or the original ANH armour. The screen used armour was one size fits all. If you did not fit the armour, you did not wear it. But, you can strap this kit is such a way to fit a larger or smaller frame while keeping the original strapping set up. The straps on the shoulders are 2" white elastic. The MEPD have got it all wrong regarding these straps. It was hought years ago that these straps were canvas but they are elastic as seen in the photos from the LFL archives.
  10. We was down there a few months back racing motocross at the track which is located at side of the base.
  11. Post 'em up! As long as they are secret/behind the scenes kind of stuff that everyone hoards.
  12. As you can see above, the looped strap goes between the rivet and snap. The snaps are behind the first box on the belt so the strap has to be in the same spot on all belts, otherwise it would be in the way of the snap and the canvas belt wouldn't be able to attach to the abdomen properly. All I can say is that you should try and get your drop boxes to line up with the ends of your belt like they did in the movies. If you want to deviate from the original costume then that's your choice.
  13. Seeing how you hate hoarding of info and photos, I thought I would share this with the community I will be sharing more of your stuff in the near future. Watch out in the FS section!
  14. Here's a link to an original ROTJ/ESB helmet restoration. I had totally forgotten I had this and thought I would share it with you. Some of you will have already seen this but for those who haven't, enjoy *HELMET RESTORATION*
  15. Absolutely! So, would it be acceptable for someone with a 40"+ waist to have their drop boxes hanging past their plastic front belt to cover there gap?
  16. Again, this kind of attitude holds you back, in my opinion. I can fully understand where you are coming from, but I would not care what 'the people' think. White boots are idealaised, what they are supposed to be, NOT what they are. See where I'm coming from?
  17. Not being harsh, just honest. What I try and tell people is that to try and look like a stormtrooper you have to copy what they did back in the costume deptmartment back in 1977. That means using the same techniques of assembly, strapping and materials otherwise you will fail to get desired look. Now that may not be everyones cup of tea and that's fine, you will just never look like what you see on screen. I think too many people think too hard about things. Just copy what you see on screen as they ARE stormtroopers. They are what you are trying to look like at the end of the day. If you don't then be happy with your interpretations Don't take this as a bashing. All I am saying is to truly look like a stormtrooper you need to copy what you see on screen.
  18. I disagree. You should be trying to emulate what is on seen screen, not what you think they should be like. Your school of thought is why most of you guys will never actually look like real stormtroopers, just interpretations. *edit* Option C FTW!
  19. It's only the sniper knee plate that is glued onto the top of the left shin. I would say ALL of the Stormtroopers were assembled the same initilly, with modifications being made to Han and Lukes armour, and the three main stunt mens armour too.
  20. If you are refering to the chin straps inside the helmet then I guess they are tucked inside away from view. A couple of things I have noticed about this photo is the helmet in the very top right hand corner is the ESB Hero and there is an 02 canister on the step on the left between the two troopers. I like the way the guy in the middle has just thrown his blaster inside his helmet and I like how the armour looks on these thin lads. The shoulder bells look huge as does the torso. The arms as so narrow too.....very cool!
  21. Thanks again
  22. Thanks everyone
  23. Mine won't It's you who has a problem Vern. You spout your mouth off too much and you know nothing......simples
