  1. I just stumbled across these while looking for some other electronics..... Originally intended for 12Vdc use in picnic and automotive coolers/heaters, I thought they might be an ideal way to cool helmets. I don't really know all that much about them, but if I can figure out how to cool the hot side, I might try to mount one in my TK bucket as a mini air conditioner. ----- Off to do more research.
  2. For those of you who may have missed this on either the Florida Garrison or legion boards, here's a couple of videos from the event we did this past weekend with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra. The "Imperial March" with Vader... </a> Order 66 Squad 7 style.... -----------
  3. I guess I'm in the top 34% of the membership. I just turned 35 back on the 15th. Saw "The Star Wars" with my parents opening night back in '77, I was four. It's stuck with me every since. LOL!!!
  4. This is a re-post from the other SWW thread....... Any active legion members who are interested in participating in this years Star Wars Weekends are encouraged to come over and sign up on the Florida Garrison forums..... <a href="http://fl501st.com/boards/index.php" target="_blank">http://fl501st.com/boards/index.php</a> any and all information pertaining to the four weekends will be posted in the private SWW "members only" forum. Once you sign up on the boards, go to "Usergroups" at the top of your screen and request access to the member’s only forum. You will be required to produce your active legion ID # to gain access to the private forum. You may also want to introduce yourself in our newbie forum, (hint = may speed up the time to process you into the private forums. LOL!!!). The parade is actually about twenty minutes long, but the two to three hour wait before is always a blast, and a great chance to mingle and get to know other legion members. This year we have troopers coming in from California, Arizona, Nevada, Costa Rica, Germany, and Japan, and that's just to name a few. During the first and last weekends we always have a mixer dinner, and there is quite a bit of partying going on if that's your thing. LOL!!! Any way, if you can make it, come on down to Florida. We would love to have you troop with us at our annual super bowl of troops. Here's a couple of pics from last year's parade.....

  6. I just saw this...----------------....over on the legion boards. I really hope there are no plans to allow this in the 501st.
  7. I wouldn't hold your breath. The ONLY designation ever given in the films was TK. Fans made up the desert trooper aka TD. As far as Lucas was concerned, both TKs and TDs were STORMTROOPERS! As far as any designation in the holiday special.........well.......Lucas would rather that it didn't exist.
  8. LMAO!!!!! EXACTLY!!!! I vote for the FU designation.
  9. I think it's a great idea as long as it's a private group.
  10. I guess brittle was the wrong word. I don't think styrene is as rugged as ABS. I've worked with styrene and ABS, and the styrene tears up a lot easier than ABS. I don't know, like I said it's just my opinion.
  11. This is just MY opinion, but..... I wouldn't do anything in styrene. It's a lot more brittle than ABS.
  12. I'm completely out of unfinished buttons. When I pick up some more I can do that.
  13. Sorry for not getting back to you guys before now. The buttons I used are from Tandy Leather.... http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/product...?number=1293-02 I sanded the metal finish off, then painted a coat of primer. Then I used Rustolem Navy Blue... http://www.rustoleum.com/CBGProduct.asp?pi...amp;sid=7723830 and Rustoleum Pewter Gray... http://www.rustoleum.com/CBGProduct.asp?pi...amp;sid=7783830 ...then I just drilled out the holes on the ab plate, put the posts in, cut and crimped the backs, and hot glued them in place. Yeah, on my old armor I just used velcro and it was always coming undone. The snaps and velcro seem to work a lot better.
  14. LOL!!! I posted back on the 11th that I didn't have access....
  15. Guess what...... I still get this too.....
  16. I just realized my status is wrong. I'm a 501st member *AND* I have an active TK designation. http://www.501st.com/members/displaymember...cfm?userID=6160
  17. Well, I don't know what happened to the other post I made here. Obviously someone here thought I wasn't serious. Any way, I hope you had a chance to read it before it was deleted.
  18. I plan on cutting some small discs out of spare ABS, and then attaching them over the rivets.
  19. I got started on the canvas belt. I still need to cut it to size add some velcro.
  20. Here's My MR E-11 that I added a counter to....... http://whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1704
  21. LOL!!! UPS just dropped off the clips for my detonator, so now that's done.
