  1. Yes, it was quite a PITA, but it's done. I ended up just scraping it off with a sharp knife, and then buffing the ABS back out with some super fine grit (12,000) sand paper.
  2. Okay, I did a little work to the frown last night when I got home from work. It looks way better than it did, thanks for pointing that out. I'll get some pics posted up when I get home tonight.
  3. Hovi Mix mike tips... Grey traps / teardrops with black lines and flat green lenses. I hope to have everything done by the end of the week, and then I can get some pics in costume.
  4. I'm currently about half way through building my second set of F/X TK armor, and I figured I go ahead and shoot for ANH Elite. Here's my back plate, cut and reattached with elastic strap... ...here's my ab and back plate with the newly added side plate inserts... ....I went ahead and trimmed the belt down on the corners. Now I'm just waiting on my canvas belt to come in. Here's my correct color and size ab buttons.... No rivets in the shoulder strap attachment, and for now I'm leaving the backs unattached. I may at some point secure them with velcro.... I'm still going to use my RT bucket that I had with my first set, but just for the record...... Here's the grey painted frown, with eight holes (stunt version) Blue tube stripes...
  5. Use sandpaper. Okay, now that you think I'm completely insane. LOL!!! No, seriously. I use sandpaper all the time to buff out my armor. You just start with a low grit paper and work up to a fine grit. The trick is using super fine grit paper in the first place. Depending on the amount of damage, you can choose lower or higher grits. For example, if you get plastic welder on your armor, you can start out with an 1800 grit and work your way up to 12,000 grit. The 12,000 grit is what really does the trick. It almost super shines armor. Here's a place I found online that you can get these papers from....... ----- I hope this helps.
  6. Congratulations. Now get to work trooper!!! LOL!!!
  7. I don't even think the F/X bucket should be allowed in the 501st. Other detachments have higher standards for joining the legion. Try joining the legion with an over the counter Vader, LOL!!!! Why should we have such low standards for TKs?
  8. Wait a minute! No it's not!!! This is a 501st Detachment. You may not need to be a legion member to log on to these forums, but you most certainly need to be in order to be a member of this detachment.
  9. Yeah, he just sent me this over on the Florida boards......
  10. PM sent As far as the TK bucket, like I said, it's just my opinion. Something just doesn't look right about it.
  11. I just tried it myself and I get the same message.
  12. Here's a couple of patch pics.....
  13. I couldn't agree more. While I like my Hasbro for trooping, I've never really cared for some things about it such as the front sight etc. Even though it's the same blaster I started with, I'm actually on version three. LOL!!! I've reworked the thing three times now, and in the time I've spent on it, I could've scratch built three blasters. I'm planning on putting more effort into my MR E-11, until I can afford to do a full rebuild of a deactivated Sterling (check this out... http://www.ima-usa.com/product_info.php/products_id/1569 ). That's the level of screen accuracy I'd like to achieve myself. Although it would be more for display than it would be for trooping. It's the weight issue again. LOL!!! I guess at some point I'll have to break down, and just buy a resin blaster too.
  14. LMAO!!! Exactly!!!
  15. I don't know, I'm pretty proud of my Hasbro/Kenner conversion. It's not 100% screen acurate, and the pics don't do it any justice, in person, it looks a lot better.
  16. You can see pics of both my upgraded MR E-11, and my modified Hasbro in this thread... http://whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=1704 I'll probably use the MR when I submit my pics for ANH Elite status, but as far as regular trooping, I'll still use my Hasbro. It's quite a bit lighter. LOL!!!
  17. No, it's just for display. It's way to freakin' heavy to troop with. I use my heavily modified Hasbro for trooping. Here's a couple of pics of my Hasbro E-11.....
  18. I posted this a little while back on the Florida boards, but they can't take anything seriously over there. LOL!!! Any way, I was never very happy with my MR E-ll, so I decided to so upgrades to it. I still have more plans for it in the future, but first off I added an original Hengstler counter........ Here's everything stripped down.... ...this is the mounting bracket attached to the Hengstler casing.... ...the bracket and casing painted and mounted on to the sight rail.... ...it took a few adjustments to the bracket, but I was finally able to get the rail back on the blaster.... .....and here's the end result, once everything got painted. Now if I can just get my hands on an original M-38 scope, I'll be really happy. 8)
  19. Ummm.....That's what I was trying to do. LOL!!! The only way I know to get in touch with him, is to PM him on the Florida boards. LOL!!!
  20. I sent him a PM over on the Florida boards, hopefully he'll post over here soon.
  21. Guter Nachmittag, Willkommen zu den Foren. We have a guy here in the Florida Garrison ("Old Timer"), who has a small build and he owns a set of AP armor. It looks really good too.
  22. That is correct. Besides the fact that IMO, the Altmann's TK bucket is horrible, there are much more accurate helmets out there. Altmann's made a really nice Scout helmet, if you get a chance to get one of those, go for it. PM to follow.
  23. As a matter of fact, if you look closely enough at the troopers in the trailers for the game, you'll see that they are indeed a mix of clone trooper and TK. Pay special attention from 00:25 - 00:38 http://youtube.com/watch?v=3qJrV11TUa8 Then take a look at the new figures from Hasbro for the game.......
  24. Okay, so.............what makes me tick. Well, my parents raised me very well, in a very christian home, and I was very shy, not very outgoing, and for the most part just kept to myself until at the age of 19, on March 22nd 1992, I died, and was reborn hard on June 19th 1992 as a private first class in The United States Marine Corps. This experience changed my life, and made me who I am today. I saw more in four years than most people see in a life time. Without going into 20 pages of my experiences in the corps, my one claim to fame is that as a corporal in the third battalion, eighth marines, I was one of the Devil Dogs that rescued Air Force pilot Capt. Scott O'Grady from Bosnia on June 8th 1995. Any way, since my days in the corps, I worked for nine years as a maintenance supervisor, I then went out on my own, doing sub contract construction work. While doing that, I took a part time job as a bar tender, which eventually turned into a full time job while I was going to school to become a bail bond agent. I should be starting work as a temporary agent with ChaOs by the first of the year. I am married, and will have been for six years as of May 19th 2007. I am a proud father of two little girls, Charleigh Ann (2years, & 2 months old), and Cordelia Elizabeth (6 months old). Other than Star Wars (Which has been my passion since 1977, when I was four). I'm into building military armor models, and collecting WW II German regalia.
