  1. thanks a lot for the advise Darrel! yes, i agree my wife would kill me if i used it on her china!
  2. I have a friend in the local outpost suggesting that i use only industrial velcro when assembling my thigh, calves, biceps and forearms.. no glue on either side.. he did it with his AP and FX armor without having any problems. He said the main reason is you might want to adjust the fit of your armor in the future. I seemed a bit skeptical as all the tutorials on armor building that i've read require a bit of glue to hold two pieces of TK armor together.. I've read some guys even glue their thigh pieces/biceps on both sides. Will all velcroed thighs, calves hold during a troop even if I.Velcro is used? What do you guys think?

  10. Hey guys i've seen a number of boots around and i'm planning on having a pair made. I'm just confused on what type of white leather i should use? should i use the shiny leather? the type where i don't need to shine it to make it look like a mirror.. or just the standard matte leather that i can use some neutral shoeshine on? the shiny one's do look good when worn together with shiny armor, but i think the matte finish is more movie accurate.. what do you guys think? I've never seen CAboots up close, are they shiny?
  11. Thanks for the links and replies guys.. Awesome help! The FX sure needs a lot of work! But i'm also into scale modeling, so i'm gonna enjoy every minute of modding my armor!
  12. Geniuses! thanks for the tips guys
  13. I'm planning on building my thermal detonator with money clips to attach it to my canvas belt.. the reason being i'd like to remove it from time to time during troops in case i need money, cards etc.. but i read on on TK-1536's site that the thermal det causes scratches on the back piece of the armor..and i thought how could i prevent this? I thought i could easily make my canvas belt a double layer so that i could prevent this, but seeing that if i have to re-attach the TD back to its original position i might have difficulties trying to get it back on because i can't see where to re-attach it properly i could ask a fellow trooper to place it back on, but i was just thinking on how you guys do it.. Quoted from his site: Thanks for the help! Luis

  15. Hello! i've heard about the inaccuracies of the FX armor (minus the helmet).. but at the moment an MRCE bucket and an FXlite kit is all i could afford.. i'm currently in the building stage and would like to know what parts of the FX kit should i replace to make it a bit more accurate for a ANH TK. i know the shoulder bells are to be replaced..but what other mods do i have to do or replace? i was thinking of getting replacement parts thru AP. Thanks for the help! Luis
