How much damage did the helmet get? if it's subtle then you can pass it off as mild battle damage from the rebels!.. but seriously it's very hard to touch up or fix damage to a painted bucket without re-painting the part. If you do manage to find the right white paint color for your bucket then you'll have to fine sand the damaged part with high grit sandpaper like a 3400 grit, then work your way up to 3600,4000,6000,8000, till 12000 grit. after you get the scratch off then repaint the affected part. after drying for about 3 days you can polish it with some Meguire's scratch X. but again if the damage is slight, i don't think any of the fans would notice anyway

But where did MonCal get the TK helmet from? Well.. if it is Moncal
-
So it is a GF? Just wanted to be sure..

I know it's weird..it seems to be a spot on RT, but then i again i remember the detail on the ears were very soft, unlike on my AP.. my friend says he just heated the bump on the eye to remove it.. I might buy something similar but i'm having second thoughts..Oh well

Helmet painted, what sealant do I use?
2155TK replied to TK6294's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
How bout just a clear coat of paint? This would prevent yellowing. as long as you didn't use enamels to color your helmet there is no worry of the paint discoloration. -
I replaced the brow trim with the Seals direct door trim. Its close to impossible to remove the original intact! I didn't want to re-paint my lid so i went with the safest route.

Me too, i think i just cut off 2 1/2 mm . it was good enough for me. i didn't want that dimple showing under the helm..

i know my mic is in on top of the speaker coz i have a headset mic and my speakers are in my chest plate.. that's why i placed the speaker on my back..less feedback..
-
how do i pad the speaker from behind? with what material? is there a cheapest uni directional mic? thanks again
-
I have a speker, amp, mic set from trik toys. nothing special just the basic setup. when i place the speakers on my chest plate i can only raise the volume to a certain level then i get feedback. everything is fine till i place my helmet.. i get a low pitched noise wich makes me lower the volume again, but this time it's just so low that i don't hink anyone would hear me if it's at a convention with lots of people. Currently i placed the speaker setup on my back plate which is better, i get a louder volume with less feedback. does anyone have the same problem when the speakers at at the front?

Buy FXlite (armor only) then get a MRCE helmet. this is the cheapest way to get a full trooper outfit. Deckard can be found here---------- The MRCE bucket you'll have to find on the net thru ebay,Amazon etc Good Luck brother! Hope you get what you are looking for
-
Thanks for the reply! I just don't have any idea right now how big the AP is, good thing there are a lot of helpful brothers!
-
How does the AP compare to the MRCE in terms of fit? is the MR bigger than the AP? if so, how much you reckon? when i wear my MR i can still insert my head without twisting the helm, so i guess my noggin can fit an AP? One thing on my MR though, when i wear it my eyelashes seem to graze my eye lenses.. kinda gets irritating after a while.. anyone with the same problem? Thanks

Static burst from clonetrooper helmet toy
2155TK replied to Timmer's topic in Electronics for Helmets / Blasters
Noooo wayyyyyy! I always thought there was a burst... has anyone tried watching the movie at maximum volume with a 5.1 home theater setup to hear if there actually was a static burst for TK's?? This is mind blowing for me.. -
Thanks for the help guys! Made my choice for the AP much easier

Hey guys i currently have FX armor and a MRCE bucket. a friend of mine wants to buy my bucket since i told him i'll be buying an AP helm in the near future. The MR on photos show a "whiter" color than the rest of the FX armor and i was just wondering whether the AP bucket has a closer color to the FX suit.. anyone out there with the AP helm FX armor set-up? thanks! Luis

Thermal Det requirements?
2155TK replied to 2155TK's topic in FISD Expert Infantry Badge (EIB) Requirements
would you happen to have a picture of your TD with the cap removed? thanks so much for the help! I was planning on going for the screw-on cap.. but i see it's a bit complicated. would like to have a lot of ideas before i do mine.. btw i bough a couple of Acco Bankers Clasps. i think these will work well with my TD. Where do i place the bankers clasps if my TD has the bumps on the rear where the instructions say to drill holes? on the sides? or on the bumps? Thanks again!
