  1. Yep - you've nailed it The only thingh I cant comment on is size, but assuming the traps fit and the tube stripes are the right length to fit them in between the ear and mouth then theyre correct WELL DONE! Cheers Jez
  2. Agree with oyhers views - Ive always considered him a really decent guy. BTW interesting factoid is that he only got the name "RT-Mod" when he and I couldnt think how his stuff should be referred to on my site Cheers Jez
  3. I'm at work at the moment so only have access to a limited amount of comparison info. However from what I can tell it looks like you've done a superb job Cheers Jez
  4. I'd certainly agree with that too - if the FX is considered good enough then this really should be. However I've just learned thatthe ONLY supplier is Play.com - I can only guess that the US retailer in quesiton didnt confirm the order before 31st Dec - the deadline. Now my understanding is that Play ordered thousands of these so potentially it is open to them to sell to a US retailer, however MR cant Cheers Jez
  5. Thats what its there for mate! Cheers Jez
  6. Helmet Looks superb. Your lighting in the pics is great too - nice work! Cheers Jez
  7. Nice work Chris, its looking great Cheers Jez
  8. Thanks again guys, got AP's going well, need more TE2's, TM and any others Ive missed Cheers Jez
  9. Soprry mate didnt mean to be bvague. I meant that I thought that AP helmets (and armour) were shipped from the same phyical address as GF used to use (in Canada). Maybe this was just during the handover Cheers Jez
  10. HUMOUNGOUSLY Impressive work guys - certainly beyond the call of duty. Love the comparisons too Well Done - Happy New Year to all Cheers Jez
  11. Terrell, Mario - thanks for the pics. I'll get the site updated over the weekend Cheers Jez
  12. I always thought (maybe wrongly) that GF sold his moulds to AP, who then made a few changes. Whatever the history to these then I'd like to know so my site can relect this. IIRC (and again maybe wrong) but werent the AP helmets shipped from the same physical address? Cheers Jez
  13. I'm conscious that StarWarsHelmets.com has not had the fan-made Stormtrooper sections updated for a long while - a request some time back for updated pics on a couple of sites seemed to have fallen on deaf ears. I'd therefore like to add sections for any helmets/armour that are not there (e.g. AP, TE2, TM, etc.) so if anyone has these helmets and can take some decent pics (against a neutral background) then please send them to me along with some text, mini review etc. to jez (at) starwarshelmets (dot) com Cheers Jez
  14. MR tried to make it as accurate as they could - given the materials and production processes they had at their disposal. The first prototype helmet they sent me had a really bad frown and that was the first thing I told them to address. However they did that for proto 2 and I'm happy with the results - Other than the top lip being too sharp. ------------ Cheers Jez
  15. MR's made the Hero helmet, although the confusion may have been aided by the fact that they use a Stunt as their base mould (since the LFL archive only had the one Hero and LFL were understandably reticent about letting anyone cast it). However they used this Hero helmet n the archives as reference and had a 3D scan of it done also. The MR license ends on 31st Dec, although they are still allowed to fulfill orders until 31st March 08. The original run for Stormtrooper helmets was 2,500 although in the end they cut back on this. They sold out of some while back and in addition it seems that theyve UNDER produced such that 70 people who ordered will not be getting their helmets at all. In addition theyve produced a CHEAP ($120) injected ABS Stunt helmet, initially exclusively for a UK retailer (play.com) which I understand is not too great - however there are no pics circulated as yet. Hope this helps Cheers Jez
  16. In many respects this is acually a “horses for courses” argument. From a manufacturing process it was not realistic for MR to produce a 100% accurate lid out of ABS in the volumes theyre talking about. From a customer service perspective it would have been a nightmare – since the vast majority of people want a helmet to reflect the attributes of the image they see on screen – rather than what the actual film prop looked like. With that in mind imo MR has made a really nice collectible for the price The base helmet was Jason Joiners Stunt lid, although they also digitally scanned the LFL Hero and used countless photo's to get it as close as they could. Cheers Jez
  17. Yup - thats my understanding too. For those who haven't seen it, here's Brian helmet, its on the Real/ANH Trooper page (which is getting waaaay too long and probably a bit out of date too) Cheers Jez
  18. I dont think that is correct. All the original designs were by Ralph McQuarrie. There were a few clay sculpts made of differing designs but I dont recall ever seeing anything basd on a motor cycle helmet Cheers Jez
  19. Very nice work Armando Cheers Jez
  20. Matthew Thank you for your eloquent post and your contribution to this hobby. I think you’re done here. The math is simple. TE + rare pics / greed = rip off BTW as you well know I was invited by Christies in London to authenticate the helmets – something they ask me to do on many occasions. That was October 2004. They didn’t go on public showing until 2 months later – but the knowledge of having a “scoop” didn’t make me think of dollar signs unlike you, which is why the pics were loaded up for all to see the very next day Cheers Jez
  21. Here are the ones they used to use at Disney in Florida All image links were broken and unable to be recovered. IIRC they updated them 2-3 years ago but cant find a pic of those ones. Cheers Jez
  22. Yeah - as Chefhawk that page highlights the differences in the helmets. Never done a page on the armour but should do some time I suppose. Have a good look around the site - there's plenty there to keep you busy for hours Cheers Jez
  23. Thanks guys -glad you like it. Just added some RotJ original helmets recently Cheers Jez
  24. Those ads are superb. I'm trooped a couple of years at the SW week-ends and can absolutely say its a BRILLIANT time. The last time we went we also got Disney room for something crazy like $40 per night and its great to see so many familiar faces on those events. I'd love to do next year but my kids are in school in May/June. If you can find the time you really MUST go Cheers Jez
  25. $150 for a DVD of your pics!!!! I have to say you've shot yourself in the foot on this one Matt. For a long time a number of people including myself have tried to convince people that you really are only in the hobby to make as much cash as you can. But you've just illustrated that perfectly now for everyone. Its only ever been about greed with you. And now you've proved it! Thank you! For people who dont want to be ripped off, rest assured that any helmets or costumes Matt is referring to MOST CERTAINLY WILL be photographed by less greed-orientated people and shared for free on sites like StarWarsHelmets.com. Remember "Stop That Ship" and "Move Along"? Both extensive photo-reviews were shared on my site months before they were in the public domain - in fact Braks and I nailed the actual helmets in the movie so I'll always have friends at the various auction houses. I Did the same for the ESB helmets including John Mollo's As far as the LFL archives - The fact that they were fooled into letting someone see some stuff so he could make a few quick bucks out of them shouldnt detract from the fact that they are opening their doors more frequently. The Hero in the archives is a great example of that. There'll be more pics. And you wont need to pay a penny for them! Cheers Jez
