  1. Any tips on how to remove that bothersome sticker/tag at the top back of one's underarmour? It's on there real good. Thanks!
  2. Mine came last week VERY QUICKLY (nice)... the volume is better/louder than the WalMart VC. I had to cut down the mic part to fit in my MRCE lid. Smitty, can't wait to see what you can show us to make it wireless. Which wireless kit did you get to go with it? P.S. It wasn't me who mentioned to the seller that I was buying for a costume. I hope it doesn't drive up the price.
  3. Jim, good point. I don't know that I've heard that clean TKs have no static burst... like you said, I do believe there are several instances in ANH where troopers storming Tantive IV had static burst as well as stormies on the jolly old Death Star.
  4. They're no match for droidekas." ―Rune Haako to Nute Gunray[TPM ep. I] Awesome build Mathew! Go man go!!!
  5. I'm wondering... are the tusks that come with the MRCE acceptable for the "Black Hovi-Mix cast tusks” needed for Elite standards? Thanks.
  6. Fortunately I have a left over ABS sheet from my kit that was supposed to be the belt I think (I'm going canvas for ANH Elite) so I can use that....
  7. Very little... I can barely get them closed (very tight fit) toward the bottom (ankle area) and the toward the top is maybe an inch if that (don't have them in front of me unfortunately)...
  8. LOL
  9. Thanks SuperTrooper. I have the FX lite from Deckard. Yeah, I glued the front permanent already. So should the strip in the back be on the outside or the inside? I bet I could search for pics of your armor, right? I'm really a visual learner.
  10. Brad, being a psychotherapist and marital counselor I would say the most important ingredient is quality time and communication; the where and when and all the material stuff is a distant second. Good luck!
  11. Oops; I meant this to be in "Assembly". Sorry.
  12. Guys, I've searched quite a bit and can't seem to find good instruction on the best way to do calf shims and especially what they are supposed to look like when done. Help please! I'm so close! I'm turning in my 501st app this weekend! ANH Elite app soon to follow!
  13. That is so stinkin' cool I can hardly believe it!!!
  14. I'm glad I found FISD before this other one. This is the place to be for all things shiny and white.
  15. Eddie, I wouldn't worry too much about the CAboots and the smell... I bit the bullet and got mine a couple weeks ago and truthfully it's not that bad. There is a distinct difference between an offensive "funk" smell and a rubber/glue, faux leather (?) smell of which the CAboots are the latter. I haven't trooped in them yet but as Smitty said they just look great. I haven't heard any stories from the more experienced troopers about people saying, "Awesome costume; BTW did you step in something that died some time ago?" I think if you save up and go for the CABoots you won't be disappointed. My two Republic credits worth.
  16. Nick, Your kit looks awesome! Great job. I am almost there. Is your bucket MRCE? It looks great.
  17. Aha! Thanks Manny; that helps.
  18. I just ordered one of these since the price is seemingly so amazing (only $4 more than the WallyWorld voice changer... which I have and quite like the sound of). Thanks R2Dan for sharing! P.S. Do you know any "Struchtemeyers" (my last name) over in or around Herne? I'm a newbie; almost finished with my first TK; and haven't been on any troops yet so I have zero experience "in the field". But what I'm confused about is how the WalMart voice changer and this most recent voice amp compares to the ROM/FX at £105.00, which I believe is $155. Does one simply have to hear each one to understand the significant price difference, or am I missing something else here? Thanks!
  19. I can hear that slimy piece of worm-ridden filth even now... "Ho, ho, ho... Koona t'chuta Solo?"
  20. Ah ha! Thanks Thayne... I was just about to ask Marcel if the UK "shed" was analogous to our states-side "garage". I'm so not the worldly trooper. Right!
  21. Bruce, Got mine last week... they look great IMHO, and more comfortable than I imagined. I plan to make some attempts at "deodorizing" these boots and will post my successes and/or failures... If anyone is interested. I don't mind the smell myself to be honest though.
  22. Thanks guys! Closer, getting closer... to 501st membership and FISD ANH Elite status... Here's a totally unrelated (but somewhat related) question maybe for Daetrin or Terrell or another officer... Have you thought about a yearly get-together for all FISD members? You may already do this (unbeknownst to us newbies) or the logistics may just be impossible (I'm in north Georgia, and I see that Daetrin is in Wash. state, and Terrell is in Michigan... of course now that I think about it many members are overseas! Egocentric American ) . Or members may see each other quite enough at troops and conventions and the like. I just think it would be cool to meet all you guys and gals, check out each other's kit in person, buy the FISD t-shirt, etc. Just a thought. Peace, Derek
  23. Hey Mark, I'm just finding this and totally plan to follow the excellent tutorial. Here comes the dumb question... wait for it... Do I just pick up plain white canvas like at a fabric store? Or is there a particular color I need to look for to satisfy Elite status? Thanks so much! Peace, Derek
  24. Brian, I too am looking for info re: the differences between these two weapons. Unfortunately I'm a new trooper and don't have much knowledge yet. I hope one of the seasoned troops replies soon. Merry Christmas. Derek
