  1. Can we set up a vote for the SE-14R i would like to use mine for ANH and ESB - as i do when trooping..
  2. Awesome armour set up - you can not get bored of looking at TM armour
  3. For accuracy the elastic is glued to the rear and attaches to the single snap. The belt holds the lower part in place.
  4. A screwdriver and molegrips should do you alright.
  5. Sounds like it's time for an armour party to get this fixed. . .
  6. Is the paint dry yet - time to do the fine detailing..
  7. Looks fantastic as always
  8. I understand your idea - but if you don't conform surely the guy in charge of saying yay or nay will just say no?
  9. IIRC recasting is outside the remit of the 501st?
  10. Ifs that's the case why don't you just rewrite the standards saying these items can be attached by glue or screw? Really all this hassle over 2 small rivets.. I've seen suits in the 501st where all strapping for each major limb has been screwed directly through the armour - yet none where all add-ons were all glued. I know you keep saying this programme is not meant to be prop replication but what is it for? And what standards do you want to achieve?
  11. It's obvious to me why one side was glued and the other riveted. The sniper knee plate was formed to fit directly on the shin and the plastic thin enough that when glued moulds perfectly to the shin. Something seen on some modern day replicas. Whereas the thigh ammo pack was a flat piece that always wants to return to it's original shape when bent about the leg. Something again we see in modern day replicas. Simple fix - use rivets.
  12. Right i see - you just need to confirm the style head. Be it brads or bifurcated rivets, jeans rivets or whatever they all have solid heads. Pop rivets by their very nature have small holes in them. Thats all you need to specify - the difference between solid head or pop rivets. What you call them has little to no consequence imho.
  13. I think for standard 501st and EIB pop rivets should surfice - for the new centurian programme solid head rivets only. Is that what you mean?
  14. Rivets with solid capped heads should cover it.. and a photo..
  15. I would say.. * If rubber gloves are worn, the hand plates will be affixed via an elastic strap over the palm. * If silk or satin gloves are worn, the hand plates will have the correct visible stitching pattern using black cotton, at five points equally spread out with 2 on the sides and 1 in the middle front.
  16. The trouble with screen grabs and such is that they are usually showing troopers from the waist and higher - next to no up close screen shots of the lower legs. Couple this with the fact they are painted white makes it harder to see. But by setting the bench mark asking for the thigh pack to be glued you are starting another untrue rumour of what is screen accurate. We know they were riveted by looking at original armour archive pictures and so why not spread accurate infomation??
  17. I dont think the bell swoop needs to be written - either way should be fine Reading the guidelines again - i still dont get why visible rivets for the thigh are in question. Every suit ive seen has this rivited on - only the sniper knee plate on the shin is glued?
  18. Here are you classic sewn on hand plates.. Hand plates without holes.. And if you look cloesely at the trooper to the right of Han, you can see the gloves are rubber, not fabric..
  19. I thi nk hero or stunt helmet choice should be there. Also on gloves - rubber gloves should have hand plates on elastic over the palm.. Silk gloves with hand plates sewn on.. Both should be an option.
  20. Good luck with that one.. Is that I can of worms I can hear being opened somewhere..
