  1. You talking about white rubber, right? Seems you're using the wrong glue. Either get some silicone glue,or super glue with primer pen. For latex, regular super (CA) glue works best!
  2. Now, THAT is a cute and happy smile! Seems you can apply for Centurion as soon as you receive my hand guards!
  3. I guess only a few knew back then; I didn't know myself for sure But look what this young green beginner became today! He's the deployment officer! A few years ago, a put a pair of unpainted katex guards on a main road for 15 mins. They just got REAL dirty, nothing else. Anyway, I'd like to know and some damages. Maybe this helps to prevent any damages. I admit they are not indestructable!
  4. That's why the front edges weren't glued on the originals. Like a pressure relieve valve
  5. Definatly, but I'll need a latex one in hand first to recast it. In fact, I ordered already several rubber componets to try out; but it seems they won't be really cheap so far.
  6. Thanks Frank! It seems they wore the same seals in ESB, judging by the pics. IIRC correctly, they changed to hand sewn seals in ROTJ, and I think I ready they were even dark burgundy in color. But our ROTJ experts know surely better!
  7. Nice! looking forward to your progress!
  8. Flexible hand guards are widely available nowadays, from different vendors, made of various materials, some more accurate than others. Does anyone had some bad experience with hand guards, like ripping, discoloration, glue comming off, funky smells (like CA boots) etc, etc. If so please share! Maybe there's a way to improve this! And if you had FUN experiences, please share too! Note: Paint comming of painted latex hand guards is NOT a fault, it is WANTED.
  9. Hm, I guess everything gets damaged with time and use (or if you really try hard). I'm sure there's a reason the orginals didn't last until today. But you know what, I have an idea: Let's talk about neck seals, shall we?
  10. Opps, Sorry Paul! I must have misread that. All those fumes.... Edit: Just re-read it. D'oh! I need to sleep more.
  11. But...but...but it was built by TM!
  12. No fiberglassing yet.Does it really smell funny? Actually, latex stinks a lot, as it evaporates ammonia while curing.
  13. I forgot: This is a perfect example that RS can be fitted properly for "bigger" guys!
  14. Looking good, Flo Nice collection of posters, too, But please don't tell me you store your armor in that blue IKEA bag!
  15. The fourth from the right seems perfect
  16. This movie is even special: Danny DeVito dubbed his own lines in several languages, including german and russian. Now,go on and build your suit of armor!
  17. Thanks everybody for your kind words! A word about the card board lining it's from a collection box for milk cartons to be recycycled. They sometimes have ad on it. I haveto keep the packages/envelopes as thin as possible. Once the thickness is over an inch, the postage fees doubles. Correct!
  18. Indeed, it's a rivet on the ear. I think this is a slight misunderstsanding: There's a rivet under the ear, which holds the two helmet parts together. On, the ear, there's the second screw (with hero helmets). But everything is a quick fix
  19. Interesting idea, John! Great news, everyone! Molding starts tomorrow. A glove mold with a two part fiber glass shellm which a friend of mine is making. If there's interst, I'll document every step. Maybe we all can learn something about mold making.
  20. Besides the two small issues Mathias mentioned, you look awesome! Get some sskunky mic tips, and I think ATA makes 3 bumps ears. I suppose the pics were taken in a studio? I really love the hand guard close ups! I've never seen them so well photographed!
  21. Ignore my previous post, I was irritated by the hero helmet pic. I totally agree with Frank and Mathias
  22. The stunt helmet had two screws, the hero just one
  23. For that price, I'd get two
  24. Hmm. Strange.Imade some bicep hooks after about 5 mins of heating.
  25. +1 for the hair dryer. But keep at least 10" (25 cm) distance, or it will shut down
